Piancheng Village belongs to Piancheng Town in Shexian County, and it is a provincial-level historical and cultural village. The village is famous for having a bungalow-style ancient building complex-Liujiazhai, which was built in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty. More than 80% of the existing buildings are from the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, which is a typical well-preserved quadrangle-style building complex in the north.

The mountain village is 300-400 meters above sea level, surrounded by a 10 meter wall made of bluestone, leaving only the east, south and north gates. It is a small mountain village that is easy to defend but difficult to attack. The village is divided into 7 corridors and 47 branches. Each branch is a typical stockade-style building that is rare in the north. There are Amin Building Courtyard carved from pure wood, Jinshi Courtyard combining China and Europe, and four stone pillars supported by huge bluestones, all built on the mountain. According to the relevant historical records of Shexian County, Laopiancheng Village is divided into three parts: Donggang, Xigang and Tuzhaizi, which is the regional department of Licheng County, Shanxi Province. 1940, bombed by Japanese invaders. From 1938 to 1946, the Piancheng county party committee and county government were stationed here, and the advance team of the Eighth Route Army129th Division was secretly stationed here for seven years.

Piancheng Village is adjacent to Xizhuang Village, Wangdapo Village, Aiye Village, Hengling Village, Panyu Village, Shengsitou Village, Pingfanggou Village, Shifeng Village, Siziyan Village, Ximiaowan Village, Qianping Village, Koizumi Village, Nishimura Village and Wangjin Village.

Piancheng Village was selected as the fourth batch of famous Chinese historical and cultural villages in June 5438+1October 65438+April 2008.
