You need to apply for a passport to go to Russia.
Chinese citizens need a passport to travel to Russia or for any other purpose. To apply for a passport, you need to apply in person at the exit-entry management agency of the public security organ of the local people's government at or above the county level where your household registration is located. Ordinary passports are valid for 10 years, while temporary passports are valid for 15 days. Temporary passports can be issued under certain circumstances, such as in Manzhouli and other places, by regular international travel agency staff, but photos and ID copies need to be prepared in advance, and the fee is 120 yuan.
The process of applying for a passport:
1. Bring your ID card to the immigration administration department to get the "Application Form for Chinese Citizens to Go Abroad (Border) for Private Purposes" (hereinafter referred to as the "Application Form" ”)
2. Fill in the application form.
3. Submit the application. The following materials must be brought when submitting the application:
A. Personal ID card.

C. One color photo that meets the requirements.
4. Receive a passport. After the Exit-Entry Administration Office of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau accepts the application, the time for approval, production and issuance of the passport is 14 working days.
