The impact of the opening of the Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge on Chongming tourism is about 1000 words.
Since1October 3 1 65438 Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge was officially opened to traffic, the completion and opening of the Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge has played an immediate role in promoting Chongming tourism. Chongming Island is flooded with a large number of passengers every day, and there is a peak of private cars on weekends, which makes it difficult to go to the toilet, park, drive and eat on the island, and the tourism experience is greatly reduced.
Shen Yongping, director of Chongming Tourism Bureau, admitted in an interview with the Morning Post reporter yesterday that although the number of tourists has greatly increased since the opening of tunnels and bridges a week ago, the boost to Chongming's economy is very limited.
According to people from distribution centers and travel agencies, most of the tourists who come to Chongming are middle-aged and elderly people, and their daily consumption is only 40-40 80 yuan/person, which will not greatly promote Chongming tourism in the long run.
Insiders said, "Chongming Tunnel Bridge fever may only last for half a year." People in the industry call for Chongming tourism to pay attention to protecting the ecological environment and build a number of leisure and holiday facilities, thus prolonging the tunnel and bridge effect.
Status:
70% are middle-aged and elderly tourists.
From 1 65438+1October1to yesterday, the number of tourists visiting Chongming via the tunnel bridge has reached 300,000, exceeding the reception volume two months before the opening of the tunnel bridge. The "blowout" market of eco-island tourism has greatly exceeded expectations, and there are problems such as insufficient supply of accommodation and catering on the island.
According to the statistics of Chongming County Tourism Bureau, the number of visitors to Dongtan Bird Nature Reserve, Dongping National Forest Park, Xisha Wetland, Mingzhu Lake Park and Qianwei Village reached 70,000, equivalent to half of the accumulated passenger flow during the eight days of the Eleventh Golden Week, setting a record for Chongming Day. At the same time, during the period of 1 65438+1October18, Shanghai Tourism Distribution Center sent a total of 1722 tourists to Chongming Tourism Line.
Although the situation is gratifying, according to relevant sources, about 70% of the tourists who have surged recently are middle-aged and elderly people over 50 years old. "Although there are a large number of middle-aged and elderly tourists, their spending power is not strong." Le Xiao Mei, a senior tour guide, calculated an account for the reporter. Many elderly tourists bring their own dry food to travel. During the one-day tour, they spent 20 yuan to buy some Chongming cakes and shredded melons. Even if you have lunch on the island, you can only choose the standard of one person in 25 yuan, plus some scenic spots tickets, and the per capita consumption will be from 40 yuan to 80 yuan.
Shen Yongping, director of Chongming Tourism Bureau, said, "Because Chongming, Dongtan, Xisha Wetland and Museum are all free, there is no ticket income. Recently, most tourists are elderly people, and their spending power is limited. This week, Chongming's agricultural products sales and catering were not bad, and other parts did not increase significantly. "
It is reported that seeing that the price of Chongming tour is low and profitable, some unqualified black tour guides, under the banner of "Chongming 45 yuan Zhou Bianyou", go to urban residential areas to recruit people and rent cars to take tourists to Chongming. Such a black tour guide not only brings security risks to tourists, but also disrupts the tourism order. The staff of Chongming Tourism Bureau said that in the future, it is necessary to unite with other departments to crack down on black tour guides.
Worried:
The island's ecology is threatened with destruction.
Yesterday, the second weekend after the opening of the Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge ended, and the second tourist peak to Chongming also passed smoothly. Manager Chen of the operation department of Chongming Bus Company said that the passenger flow on the line decreased slightly yesterday compared with the previous day, and the operation was stable.
According to the statistics of Chongming Tourism Bureau, there were more than 60,000 tourists in major scenic spots yesterday, a slight decrease from the previous day. From 1 65438+1October1to 8, the number of tourists in Chongming exceeded 300,000, equivalent to the number of people who visited Chongming two months before the opening of the tunnel bridge. Half of these tourists landed in Dongtan Wetland and Xisha Wetland.
Many citizens are worried that so many passengers will adversely affect Chongming's ecology, especially the survival of migratory birds in wetlands. Le Xiaomei, who has taken delegations to Chongming many times, also bluntly said that migratory birds were always seen in the reeds of Xisha and Dongtan. "Now I only see people. Tourists not only scare away migratory birds, but also throw garbage all over the floor." Many tourists also suggested that Chongming appropriately restrict passenger flow.
The staff of Chongming Tourism Bureau said that the migratory birds in Dongtan and Xisha Wetland are located in the core area of the wetland, far away from the tourist area, and are unlikely to be affected, so there is no plan to restrict passenger flow for the time being. However, wetlands belong to an ecological environment chain after all, and too many tourists will eventually destroy the ecological environment. They suggested that citizens stagger their trips and have a long flow of water.
Support:
Chongming develops leisure vacation.
Zhang Jianquan, deputy general manager of Shanghai Travel Agency, told the reporter that at the beginning of the opening of Hangzhou Bay Bridge and Sutong Bridge, Ningbo could send buses twice a week, but at the end of last year, only 100 individual tourists participated in Ningbo almost every month. "After only half a year, this craze was silent, and the' bridge effect' did not last long after all." Zhang Jianquan admits that the current passenger blowout in Chongming is only due to the heat of tunnels and bridges. Once the craze recedes, where is the direction of Chongming tour?
Relevant persons from Shanghai Tourism Distribution Center suggested that Chongming should be positioned as a leisure resort. "The one-way trip from downtown to Chongming is within 2 hours, and Chongming's ecological landscape can also relax white-collar workers who have lived in the city for a long time, so compared with neighboring cities, Chongming is still more competitive."
Shen Yongping, director of Chongming Tourism Bureau, also expressed the hope that Chongming can attract people with spending power, travel at the wrong time and minimize the pressure on scenic spots. To this end, they plan to build some four-star and five-star hotels in the future. Upgrade Chongming's characteristic farm dishes and make them more exquisite. In addition, some new tourism projects will be developed to make tourists stay in Chongming for a long time so as to promote the economic development of Chongming.
It is reported that there are few high-end hotels in Chongming, and Shanghai Dongtan International Conference Center is the only five-star hotel in the county. There are only three three-star hotels (including three-star signs). There are only more than 20 business economy hotels that meet the standards, which cannot meet the needs of existing tourists.
Around the Yangtze River Bridge
There have been more than 40 accidents.
People take pictures every one or two hundred meters.
Morning Post reporter Yang Jie
Correspondent sun Yu
The reporter learned from the Shanghai traffic police department yesterday that according to preliminary statistics, since the bridge was officially opened to traffic, there have been more than 40 traffic accidents on the Yangtze River Bridge (including toll stations), most of which were minor material damage accidents such as collision and rear-end collision when vehicles were fighting for lanes at toll stations. In addition, accidents such as bicycle puncture, bicycle spontaneous combustion and rear-end collision occurred on the bridge deck, which were mainly caused by long-term use of vehicles, inadequate safety maintenance, excessive speed and failure to maintain a safe distance.
Yesterday, the reporter saw at the Chen Hai Highway Toll Station that although it was still more than 18 hours before the evening peak, the traffic volume back to the urban area increased significantly. When some vehicles are near the toll station, they frequently change lanes in order to choose the traffic window with less queues, and some even change lanes three times in a row, which is dangerous for a while.
After a week's operation, the police found that the toll gate from Shanghai to Chongming was the most congested during the morning rush hour on Saturday, because many vehicles from Shanghai to Chongming passed by at this time. Moreover, near the toll station, changing from three lanes to one lane is also easy to cause minor vehicle collisions.
Chongming police said that they hope that citizens should avoid the peak as much as possible, and drive at an appropriate speed and distance from the front on the road and drive patiently.
The reporter also found that every one or two hundred meters on the bridge, you can see a car parked, and at least five or six people take pictures on the bridge deck. In this regard, Chongming traffic police specially arranged two patrol cars to patrol along the uplink and downlink lines respectively. Once a vehicle that illegally parks for sightseeing is found, it will be persuaded through a tweeter. "For vehicles that do not leave immediately, we will strictly deal with them in accordance with the provisions of the traffic law." Lu Min, the squadron leader of Chongming Traffic Police Brigade, said.
At present, the traffic police department has installed 8 sets of electronic monitoring equipment to electronically monitor and enforce the road speed. The traffic police reminded the driver not to overspeed; In case of special weather such as fog and strong wind, try to slow down.
The body has not moved, and the heart is far away. This is the common wish of many urbanites when thinking about simple and quiet natural scenery. Perhaps it is for this reason that after the opening of the Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge, Shanghai residents flocked to Chongming, and the "hot" tourism fever has not retreated. However, a series of new problems come with the surge of passenger flow like a blowout: it is difficult to park, go to the toilet, eat and so on. Next, can Chongming's tourism fever continue? What is better to do? This edition invites several scholars who are familiar with Chongming to talk about their observations and findings, which may give us some useful enlightenment.

Opportunity knocks only once; Opportunities may never come again; It is now or never; Now is the best time.
Liu Sen: After the opening of the Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge, both of them have been to Chongming. How do you feel?
Lu Jianjian: Chongming and I have known each other for a long time. I am the first batch of graduate students after the Cultural Revolution in China, and my graduation thesis is about bird ecology research in Chongming Dongtan. Later, during the construction of national ecological county from 65438 to 0990, I participated in the planning of Chongming's first ecological county. From 65438 to 0998, Chongming Dongtan Bird National Nature Reserve participated in its ecological planning and construction, and engaged in field ecological restoration research in Chongxi Wetland all the year round. Last Saturday, I started a new round of permanent observation in Chongxi Wetland.
After the opening of the Yangtze River Tunnel Bridge, it triggered a continuous tourism boom in Chongming, exposing some problems in local tourism hardware facilities, including scenic spot management and service level as software. But I personally don't think this is a "bad thing". This not only shows the interest and goodwill of Shanghai residents in natural ecology, but also proves that Chongming has great potential in eco-tourism market. Therefore, we should take this passenger blowout as a good opportunity to promote the overall development of Chongming Ecological Island.
Lou Jiajun: I went on a weekend two weeks after the underpass bridge was opened to traffic. I mainly visited an agricultural cooperative in Chenjia Town. There was an intention to further develop and implement the "farmhouse music" tourism project in the local area, and then went to Xisha Wetland. Because we went there by car, the most direct feeling after we went there was that the local scenic spot marking system was not thoughtful enough, and many self-driving tourists would stop to ask for directions along the way.
I think the tourist blowout in Chongming reflects some problems. Subjectively speaking, I believe that the local authorities must have made preparations and plans for what may happen after the opening of the tunnel bridge. But it turns out that this kind of preparation is not sufficient. At least at present, several existing tourist attractions in Chongming cannot adapt to the large-flow Shanghai residents in terms of scenic spot layout, number and capacity, tourism product structure and service. In other words, as far as the current development pattern of Chongming tourism is concerned, it is basically no problem to meet the demand of tens of thousands of people every day on weekends or golden weeks, but once the passenger flow surges to tens of thousands of people every day, it may face great reception pressure, whether it is hardware or software.
After the opening of the tunnel bridge, it greatly improved the convenience for Shanghai residents to visit Chongming. In this regard, Chongming is facing the adjustment of the tourism market structure. What's more, now that the expectations and demands of tourists have reached the front, Chongming has to catch up quickly, do a solid market research in time, and make long-term considerations for future sustainable development. Especially for a tourism product, the first impression and word-of-mouth formed by word-of-mouth can not be ignored. Opportunity knocks only once. This is the golden rule of the tourism market.
Ecological protection is the premise.
Liu Sen: However, there seems to be a natural contradiction between ecological protection and tourism. Will the rapidly increasing demand for sightseeing put pressure on Chongming's existing ecological construction itself?
Lu Blade Sword: I think there are two keys to answering this question well.
First, whether the original ecological planning can be adhered to in the process of tourism development. The protection regulations and management measures formulated at the national level specifically for national protected areas are obviously insurmountable constraints. However, on the other hand, we still need to formulate laws and regulations to ensure that the construction process of nature reserves will not be affected, and on this basis, we will continuously improve our management level of ecological reserves. I believe that as long as we adhere to the above two points, our ecological environment itself will have a reliable "golden bell jar." In addition, you can rest assured that there is actually another set of "iron cloth shirts" in our nature reserve. Taking Dongtan Wetland as an example, it was scientifically divided into experimental area for tourists, buffer area for professional researchers and core area to ensure biological safety and free habitat at the beginning of construction. This mechanism itself can control the impact of foreign people flow on the whole ecosystem within a safe and reasonable range.
Second, we should fully understand the significance of wetland resources to human beings, and take promoting ecological construction itself as the fundamental premise of all development intentions. Now as long as the role of wetlands is mentioned, it seems that people's first reaction is to protect birds. In fact, this is only part of the wetland to protect biodiversity. In the core ecological functions of wetlands, in addition to protecting biodiversity, there are also purifying the atmosphere and improving water quality. Today, wetlands, which account for 2% of the global area, absorb the same amount of carbon dioxide every day as oceans, which account for 765,438+0% of the global area. Facing the fact that more than 80% of Shanghai residents' drinking water will be borne by Qingcaosha Reservoir in the future, it is more significant for the ecological health of Chongming Wetland, and Chongming Wetland has the obligation to purify Qingcaosha and dozens of sandbars above it. In addition, only when we can ensure the stable operation of the above wetland functions can we play the leisure, vacation, fitness and entertainment functions of Chongming Ecological Island.
In my opinion, the current ecological construction of Chongming Island will involve four major projects. Among them, ecological engineering is the premise, the goal must be clear, and regular acceptance. Next is environmental engineering. In addition to protected areas, there are small towns and some less polluting enterprises on Chongming Island, and environmental protection projects supporting urbanization and agricultural modernization are indispensable. Then there is ornamental landscape engineering, including civil engineering such as transportation and tourism facilities. The priority among the above four must be clear and cannot be reversed at will. Only when these four major projects enter the track of benign development can Chongming have a long-term sustainable future. After all, a place without environmental capacity is unproductive.
Limited impact on birds
Liu Sen: People are still very concerned. Now that the number of passengers entering the wetland scenic spot has surged, will birds be scared away?
Lu Jianjian: Indeed, Chongming Dongtan is an important stop on the Asia-Pacific migration route of migratory birds. After this discovery is established, we in the Yangtze River estuary, especially in Shanghai, have an obligation to protect this post station. This not only involves the survival of more than 60 species and more than 2 million migratory birds. If we don't protect it well enough, it means that the survival chain of these migratory animals lacks an important link. Because for birds, there is no better place to stop and replenish energy than Chongming Dongtan, south of the Yangtze River estuary.
However, we should not worry too much about the impact of the increase in passenger flow. First, as I said just now, the wetland ecological reserve itself has a strict zoning system. The core area is an exclusive area for birds, and ordinary tourists cannot enter. Secondly, generally speaking, the migration peak of first-line birds in the Asia-Pacific region is from September to the end of 10 every year. In other words, it has basically come to an end. If there is any impact, it is already very limited.
On the Connotation of Eco-tourism
Liu Sen: After the opening of the tunnel and bridge, many tourists who go for the purpose of feeling the ecology report that they have not gained much. Professor Lou, is this because the local tourism market is not well prepared, or do we have a shallow understanding of the connotation of eco-tourism?
Lou Jiajun: There are all the above factors. In recent years, eco-tourism has been a popular tourism concept in the world. For the connotation of eco-tourism, the following two points are basically formed: First, eco-tourism has dual functions of leisure and protection. In foreign countries, many eco-tourism activities are also conscious environmental protection actions, such as picking up garbage along the way and doing something for local ecological construction. In this way, tourism activities not only emphasize tourists' practice of social responsibility, but also emphasize the experience and interaction of tourism activities themselves. They will also be based on meeting people's desire to communicate with nature and purify their hearts during the travel process, rather than just staying at the level of "watching the excitement". Second, eco-tourism emphasizes that local residents are allowed to create and harvest economic value through tourism activities under the premise of moderate development. Judging from the above two points, the so-called "eco-tourism" around us is just a label, and there is no more substantive connotation.
The same is true of Chongming today. The opening of the underpass bridge only solved the traffic problem. Next, we must think about the key to our sustainable development. Especially as an ecological island with traditional ecological advantages, how does Chongming build its own characteristics? Chongming has a large geographical area, but limited by the ecological construction itself, how big is the open tourism space? How to develop such rich tourism resources in the whole island as a whole? This requires long-term planning and layout, and then based on China's national conditions and the particularity of the local market, tourism products with different levels and functions are developed according to different tourists' consumption preferences, abilities and understanding of ecological protection concepts. Otherwise, it is hard to say that there will be no "faster warming and faster cooling".
If you understand, you will be interested in coming again.
Liu Sen: In foreign countries, ecological education is a very important part in the construction of wetland parks. In this respect, we have just started. Any suggestions for Professor Lu?
Lu Jianjian: I think I need more mouths to help. The media is one thing, but the accompanying explanation on the spot is irreplaceable. Moreover, ecological knowledge is generally more professional. Whether there is a simple explanation or not, everyone's gains will be very different. Of course, the bare reed is not very ornamental, but if someone tells you what kind of creatures live in this reed, how they form an interlocking biological chain and what is the ecological mechanism behind it, everyone will naturally find it interesting. Only when you understand it can you have fun again.
To this end, our nature reserve urgently needs to build a team of interpreters. It can be a professional, a college student volunteer in a related major, or a biology teacher in a local primary and secondary school. After listening to the explanation, our children can also "hand in hand" when they go home to spread ecological knowledge and ideas to more people around them.
