Located 60 miles south of Shouxian County, Huainan City, it was named Shaopi in ancient times. It was built in the Spring and Autumn Period during the period of King Zhuang of Chu (613 BC to 591 BC) and was ordered by Sun Shuao, Prime Minister of Chu. Built with a history of more than 2,600 years, it is the earliest large-scale Pitang irrigation project in the history of my country. Located about 30 kilometers southwest of Shouxian County, the confluence of Huai, Pi and Ying rivers is known as "the seventy-two waters return to Zhengyang". Thousand Years The ancient temple Taishan Ancient Nunnery is located in the southwest of the ancient town. It was first built in the 11th year of Yuanhe, Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty, 1190 years ago. Due to the long history and repeated wars, the scale of the original nunnery and the replacement of monks and nuns cannot be verified. Today's temple was rebuilt in the twelfth year of Daoguang's reign (AD 1832). After the nunnery was damaged by floods in 1991, Master Shengde, the abbot of the nunnery, and his disciple Guocheng raised funds from various sources and restored the ancient temple with the support of governments at all levels and friends from all walks of life. It now covers an area of ??36 acres. It is the only surviving temple among the 36 ancient temples in Yinxian Ancient Town. It is also the only temple in Shouxian County that still has Buddha statues and nuns. There are 30 Buddha statues of various sizes in the temple. In 1998, Jingshou County People's Government announced it as a county-level cultural relic Protective unit. The building is a brick-concrete structure with a high-walled exterior, white walls and blue tiles, well-proportioned, and upright. Elegant, solemn and generous. It was planned to be established in October 1958 and officially established in November 1962. It is one of the earliest museums in Anhui Province. In January 2004, it moved to the new building. The new building is located on Shouchun City West Street, adjacent to the Confucius Temple. The new museum was officially opened to the public on May 1, 2006.
