It was originally the county seat of Yongnian County (the county government moved to Linmingguan in 1958). It was called Guangfu because it was the seat of Guangping Prefecture in history.

The ancient city of Guangfu is just a geographical name and has nothing to do with the Cantonese ethnicity, Cantonese dialect, or Cantonese people.

Guangfu Ancient City is located 15 kilometers northeast of Handan City, Hebei Province. It has a history of more than 2,600 years and is a national key cultural relic protection unit.

Because the ancient city wall built during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties is well preserved and attracts many spontaneous tourists from all over the world, the Internet calls it a forgotten mysterious ancient city, and the name Guangfu Ancient City began to spread.

The ancient city of Guangfu was a fiefdom of Zhao State during the Warring States Period.

Dou Jiande, the leader of the peasant uprising army in the late Sui Dynasty, established his capital here and established the "Xia Kingdom".

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this place became the seat of Guangping Prefecture of Zhili Province.

The well-preserved Hongji Bridge in the east of the city is the sister bridge of Zhaozhou Bridge.

The ancient city of Guangfu is the birthplace of Yang-style Tai Chi and Wu-style Tai Chi, and holds the banner position in the Tai Chi world.

The 88 and 24 forms officially announced by the National Sports Commission and performed on many occasions are all Yang-style Tai Chi or evolved from it.

Among the eight major Tai Chi sects in the country, five are originated from Yongnian, which is known as the "Hometown of Chinese Tai Chi".

In 2013, Guangfu Ancient City was promoted to a 4A-level tourist attraction.

The ancient city has a circumference of 4.5 kilometers, a wall of 10 meters high and 8 meters thick. The city covers an area of ??1.5 square kilometers and is distributed in more than 30 streets.

The ancient city of Guangfu was originally a Tucheng with an area of ??six miles and thirteen steps. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was increased to nine miles and thirteen steps. In the 21st year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1542), Chen Zu, the prefect of Guangping Prefecture, mobilized nine counties. It took 13 years for migrant workers to build the earth city into a brick city, with towers built at the four gates, turrets at the four corners, and 876 stacked walls. What is particularly special is that there is an urn city outside the four gates to guard it. The authentic customs are locked and impregnable.

The ancient city now has two urn walls and six city gates. There is Yanghe Gate in the east, Baohe Gate in the west, Yangming Gate in the south, and Zhenyuan Gate in the north. There is a moat and Yongnian Wa around the outside of the city.

Historically, Guangfu Ancient City was the seat of Quliang County, Guangping County, Wu'an County, Guangnian County, Yongnian County, Mingzhou, Guangping Road, and Guangping Prefecture.

The city has a vast river, low-lying terrain, and is surrounded by water. It is easy to defend but difficult to attack. It has been a battleground for military strategists of all ages.

This is also the birthplace of Yang-style and Wu-style Tai Chi.

The former residences of Yang Luchan, the founder of Yang Style Tai Chi, and Wu Yuxiang, the founder of Wu Style Tai Chi, are well preserved.

Yang-style Tai Chi is stretched and generous, while Wu-style Tai Chi is small and compact. Both styles are known for their softness and hardness, and the combination of hardness and softness. They are known as "living sculptures, flowing music, and the spring snow of sports." .

Yang style and Wu style Tai Chi have a wide influence, and their disciples are all over the world.
