Thunder and lightning
When outdoors, you should pay attention to:
1. Do not take shelter under a big tree;
2. Do not hold (carry) metal objects (hoes, shovels, etc.) during thunderstorms;
3. Do not stay near water bodies (rivers, rivers, lakes, ponds, canals, etc.) etc.), stay in depressions, and quickly go to a dry house to take shelter from the rain. If you cannot find a house in a mountainous area, you can take shelter under a rock or in a cave;
4. In case of a sudden thunderstorm, you can squat down , put your feet together and do not pull them with others to reduce the harm of step voltage (step shock). Metal objects you carry with you should be temporarily placed at a distance of more than 5 meters, and then picked up and taken away after the lightning activity stops;
5. Do not touch or get close to lightning protection down wires, water pipes, Use grounding wires of electrical appliances, tree trunks and other objects that may be charged due to lightning strikes to prevent contact voltage (contact lightning strikes) and side lightning strikes.
Attention should be paid when indoors:
1. Stay 1 to 1.5 meters away from wires, lamp holders, sockets, TVs, etc.;
2. Keep the power supply in the Install power surge arresters outdoors;
3. Large trees should be more than 2 meters away from windows and doorways, or people should not stand there during thunderstorms;
4. Wire for drying clothes, bedding, etc. Do not pull it to windows or doors to prevent death from lightning caused by iron wires;
5. Do not stay in isolated pavilions, thatched sheds and houses for a long time to take shelter from the rain. Be careful to avoid wires and do not stand under light bulbs. It is best to turn off the power or not use electrical appliances;
6. During thunderstorms, do not make or answer calls, watch TV (videos, VCDs) or listen to stereos . Do not use the phone to access the Internet; unplug the power supply and telephone and TV feeders.
7. Stepping on wooden boards or other insulating objects, or standing with your feet together (squatting) can reduce the hazard of step voltage.
