Why are Fujian people determined not to let their sons marry foreign girls?

I am from Fujian, and I think it may be because the older generation is xenophobic and short-sighted. First, the language differences are too great, and the words are unreasonable. When I was a child, the local nanny talked to my grandmother (my grandparents were native to Hebei), and I sometimes worked as an interpreter. Second, in the early years, northerners in Fujian were basically wage earners, and the bottom things were done by northerners. For example, when it comes to Anhui, it means picking up garbage. There is no metropolis in Fujian, and those who are willing to leave their hometown to work in Fujian are generally poor places, with little education, and basically do indecent work. Therefore, over time, people of the older generation feel that they are poor in other places. Who wants to let their children marry mainlanders?
