Geographical Issues-Norway
Geographical location: Norway is located in the western part of Scandinavia, bordering Sweden to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
Terrain: It is a long and narrow mountainous country in the north and south. The Scandinavian Mountains run through the entire territory, and plateaus, mountains, and glaciers account for more than 2/3 of the entire territory. Hills, lakes, and swamps are widespread in the south. Most areas have a temperate maritime climate, and the interior mountainous areas have a cold climate. Norway is one of the important maritime countries in the world, with its winding coastline and more than 150,000 offshore islands. It is both an excellent port and a scenic tourist area.
Climate: Norway has a subarctic coniferous forest climate, while Svalbard and Jan Mayen have a tundra climate. The annual average temperature in the capital is 7°C, and the annual precipitation is about 740 mm.
Rich tourism resources: The west coast of Norway has formed a fjord coast due to glaciers. The beautiful scenery surrounded by mountains on both sides of the coast is dazzling. Oslo is a famous port in Norway, surrounded by mountains and rivers with picturesque scenery. It is also the largest economic and cultural center in the country.
Norway is located in the north, and its southernmost point (about 58 degrees north latitude) is further north than China's northernmost point (less than 54 degrees north latitude). The Arctic Circle crosses northern Norway. In some northern cities, there is no night at all in June and July. You can see the midnight sun and the beautiful Northern Lights. Cape Nolchen, the northernmost point of the continental part, is also the northernmost point of the European continent. Economy: Norway is very rich in natural resources, mainly in oil, water conservancy, fisheries, forests and minerals. The Norwegian economy relies heavily on the oil industry and international oil prices.
