Fangchenggang Border Tourism Experimental Zone was established with the approval of the State Council in April, 20 18, aiming at promoting the global tourism development in key border areas, creating border tourism destinations and playing a leading role in the national tourism reform and innovation.

Fangchenggang Experimental Zone has 100,000 mountains, Beilun Estuary, Jiangshan Peninsula, Jingdao and other tourism resources, and the number of people entering and leaving the country is the highest among the border ports in China and Vietnam. Expressway and the high-speed railway in the experimental area have been connected with the national road network, forming a 1 hour economic circle with Nanning Wuxu International Airport, and opening a "Ho Chi Minh Trail" high-speed passenger ship tour route with Vietnam. The establishment of Fangchenggang Border Tourism Experimental Zone in Guangxi aims to promote the development of tourism in key areas along the border, create a border tourism destination and play a leading role in the national tourism reform and innovation by strengthening policy integration and institutional innovation.

Guangxi Fangchenggang Border Tourism Experimental Zone is located in Fangchenggang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, near the Beibu Gulf. It is the largest port in the west of China and the gateway to the land and sea rivers of ASEAN. There are 100 thousand mountains, Beilun estuary, Jiangshan Peninsula, Jingdao and other tourism resources. The number of people entering and leaving the country ranks first at the border crossing between China and Vietnam, and a high-speed passenger ship tour route of "Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea" has been opened with Vietnam.

The experimental period of Fangchenggang Border Tourism Experimental Zone in Guangxi is 3 years, that is, by the end of 2020, the target level that the experimental zone should achieve in terms of tourism system and mechanism, tourism industry development and tourism destination influence is established. Make use of the characteristic tourism resources in border areas, create new tourism products in border areas, encourage the development of industries such as characteristic catering, cultural performing arts, research and development of tourism commodities, processing and sales of local products, and improve the utilization rate of tourism resources and industrial added value.

Improve the global border tourism service facilities, and accelerate the construction of tourism infrastructure and tourism service facilities such as border tourism distribution centers, consulting service centers, parking lots, scenic roads, tourism signs, and emergency rescue.

2065438+April 2008, the State Council agreed to set up border tourism pilot zones in Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia and Fangchenggang, Guangxi, which are the first batch of border tourism pilot zones in China.

The total length of China's land boundary line is more than 22,000 kilometers, bordering 14 countries. After nearly 40 years of reform and opening up, border tourism has gradually become one of the three major inbound and outbound tourism markets, keeping pace with overseas tourism, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan tourism. Although the development of border tourism has achieved certain results, it still faces some institutional development bottlenecks.

For example, the system and mechanism of border tourism management are relatively backward, some border tourism routes are aging, and some border areas are inconvenient to enter and exit. In order to solve the difficulties and problems faced by border tourism at present, the State Council issued the Opinions on Supporting the Development and Opening-up of Key Border Areas, and proposed to study and establish a border tourism pilot zone.

On the basis of pilot projects in Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia and Fangchenggang, Guangxi, according to the implementation of reform measures and the needs of test tasks, different types and representative border areas were selected in time to carry out experiments, and the results with good pilot effects and controllable risks were replicated and promoted in time to promote the construction of a number of border tourism destinations.
