Tourism in Galway

Galway is a famous tourist destination. The city's picturesque scenery, with lakes, rivers, bridges and medieval-style buildings complementing each other, was once described by the famous Irish poet John Keats as the "Venice of the West". White and elegant swans swim on the sparkling lake, contrasting with pigeons hovering in the sky and seagulls flying across the water from time to time. Famous buildings in the city include Lynch's Castle, now used as a bank, St Nicholas Church, the Spanish Arch, and even the main part of the ancient city wall remains inside the bustling Eyre Square shopping mall. A short walk from the city center, you can see the sea and beach - this is Galway Bay. There is the famous coastal resort-Salthill, which provides tourists with various entertainment and leisure facilities. Watching the sunset on the seaside of Galway Bay is a rare treat. Driving south along Galway Bay, you will soon reach the famous Cliffs of Moher located on the Atlantic coast. Galway City is also the gateway to the natural ecological scenic areas of Conomara and Aran Islands.
