_ Hanging Coffin Scenic Area

_ The hanging coffin is located in Zhaotong, Yunnan. Hanging coffins along Jinsha River, Baishui River and Guanhe River basins are not unique, but they are definitely the most widely distributed and concentrated areas. There are more than 10 in Doushaguan, Diping, Coffin Rock and Lingguan Rock in Yanjin County, Washi and Cave in Weixin County and Dihuanghua in Yongshan County. Stone piles, piers, niches, gullies, caves and other forms of hanging coffin burial are readily available. In particular, the hanging coffins in Dousha Pass are the most preserved and the best.

Hanging coffin burial is a strange burial method in ancient times: choose a cliff with thousands of feet wall along the river, and hang (place) the coffin of the deceased and its ruler at a proper position halfway up the cliff. Dinosaur fossils earlier than Zigong dinosaurs were found near the hanging coffin, and unfathomable giant caves were also found, one of which is said to lead directly to Yunnan. There is also a cave tens of meters long, which is supposed to be the cave where people lived at that time. In a word, everything is mysterious and needs more exploration.

After long-term exploration and textual research, five kinds of suspension modes are preliminarily inferred: stake type, niche type, natural cave type, rock pier type and gully type. Because of the most steep terrain, it is called "ancient relics, miracles on earth" and "hanging coffin museum" by scholars.
