Why is Xiqiao Mountain called Parting Mountain?

Xiqiao Mountain is called Parting Mountain because it is said that couples will break up when they climb Xiqiao Mountain.

The reason for this rumor is related to a local legend in Xiqiao Mountain. There is a huge statue of Guanyin on Xiqiao Mountain. Although the Guanyin stone statue is magnificent, it was not supported by local villagers when it was built. After the completion, it doesn't match the surrounding environment of Xiqiao Mountain, which is very abrupt. It is not well combined with the local feng shui. In addition, Guanyin is an unmarried woman, and she can't see that the couple get along well. In a rage, she cast a spell to let the couple in this mountain break up.

Although this is only a legend, some couples really broke up after climbing the mountain, which led to many rumors, and the breakup mountain came from it. But legends are just legends after all. Many times, the breakup between lovers is not caused by one thing. Don't be prejudiced against Xiqiao Mountain, because its scenery is rare.
