Where is Tianshou Mountain in Linfen?

Tianshou Mountain is located in the northwest of Weicun Town, Yaodu District.

Commonly known as the South Laoyeding, it echoes the North Laoyeding in Qinglong Mountain, Hongtong County. Tianshou Mountain is at an altitude of1080m. Climb to the top of the mountain and look around. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the mountains are winding, only the east side of the mountain, Woye dyed green. Fenhe River is like a silver belt, and villages are scattered among buildings. Duan Yulong said that according to legend, Tianshou Mountain was once White Tiger Mountain, echoing Qinglong Mountain from afar. Later, a court official (some from Shandong and some from Pingyang Prefecture) came here and wanted to visit the mountains (or worship). He didn't want to go when he heard the name of the mountain, because the official was a sheep, thinking that it was unlucky to have a white tiger and sheep, but the clever touts around him saw the official's mind and suggested that the official rename the mountain "Tianshou Mountain". After hearing this, the officials were overjoyed and renamed Baihu Mountain "Tianshou Mountain", which means that anyone who goes up the mountain can live longer. Later, people also used to call "Tianshou Mountain" as its homophonic "Tianshou Mountain", which continues to this day. The origin of Tianshoushan's name can't be verified now, but it can only be a legend. However, the origins of palaces such as Xuan Di Palace on Tianshou Mountain are indeed recorded on stone tablets.

"Du Yao Scenic Spot" records that the Laoyeding Ancient Temple in Tianshou Mountain was built in the early Eastern Han Dynasty. In the first year of Jianwu (25 years), Liu Xiu proclaimed himself emperor and restored the Han Dynasty. Soon, he ordered the construction of a temple in Tianshou Mountain, Pingyang, and delineated the boundary. The stones and earth in the boundary belong to the temple, free of rent, money and food. There were many supplements in Wei, Jin and Northern Dynasties. When the Tang Dynasty opened its ports, Zhenwu Temple was built to make it more magnificent. Therefore, this temple was named Liang Qing Temple. Later, Buddhist monks presided over the temple, hence the name Buddha Garden. In the 23rd year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1488), Shi Jun of Xinma rebuilt the temple, and the territory of the courtyard expanded to the mountains, and Bei Le Temple merged with Du Haoqiang. In the thirty-fourth year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1695), Pingyang earthquake destroyed temples and killed monks. In the 60th year of Kangxi, Lin, Hong and Qi Xin, Zhao Si County cooperated to rebuild the temple. At this time, the palace is dense, incense fills the air and the weather is strict. Every year, there are temple fairs in Spring and Autumn on March 3rd and September 9th, during which there are majestic gongs and drums, and Zhou Pu Bangzi climbs the mountain to help out, and traders from far and near flock to it, which is very lively.
