Thoughts after reading Zhu Ziqing's "Travel Notes on London"

The London residence of the British monarch is a must-see for every first-time visitor to London. For everyone who dreams of a royal palace in a mythical world surrounded by turrets and towers, this building is strange and even disappointing. This is a luxurious architectural style in the early 19th century, and its huge scale is even more eye-catching than its gorgeous appearance. The Duke of Buckingham began building the first house in 1702. It was sold to George III 60 years later and became the residence of the royal family. The transformation of Buckingham House into Buckingham Palace was completed by George IV and his favored architect John Nash.

The first monarch to live in Buckingham Palace was Queen Victoria. When she inherited the throne in 1837, she moved into Buckingham Palace. Ten years later, the left and right wings were connected, and the main entrance road, the marble archway, was moved to its current location. The majestic main entrance with the royal coat of arms and the Queen Victoria Memorial Hall were expanded by Edward VII.
