Tourism-related laws

Legal analysis: The Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China is a law formulated to protect the legitimate rights and interests of tourists and tour operators, standardize the order of the tourism market, protect and rationally utilize tourism resources, and promote the sustained and healthy development of tourism. The Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China was adopted at the second meeting of the 12th NPC Standing Committee in People's Republic of China (PRC) on April 25th, 20 13, and came into force on June 25th, 20 13.

Legal basis: Article 83 of the Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China. The tourism authorities and relevant departments of the people's governments at or above the county level shall, in accordance with this Law and relevant laws and regulations, supervise and manage the tourism market within their respective functions and duties. The people's governments at or above the county level shall organize tourism authorities, industrial and commercial administration, product quality supervision, transportation and other relevant competent departments and law enforcement departments to supervise and inspect related tourism business activities.
