Characteristics of interpersonal communication in tourism

Interpersonal communication, referred to as communication, is the process of communication between people in society, that is, the process of transmitting information, exchanging ideas and feelings between people. Interpersonal communication with feedback information is often called two-way communication, such as a conversation between two people; Interpersonal communication in which only one party sends out information and the other party has no feedback information is called one-way communication, such as communication between TV announcers and viewers.

Interpersonal communication has the following characteristics: first, in interpersonal communication, both sides have their own motives, goals and positions, and both assume and judge what answers they will get from each other's information. Therefore, both sides of communication are in an active state, and what happens in the communication process is not a simple information movement, but an active exchange and understanding of information. Secondly, interpersonal communication depends on linguistic symbols and nonverbal symbols, which are often used at the same time. The two may be consistent or contradictory. Third, interpersonal communication is a dynamic system. Both sides of communication are constantly interacting, and stimulation and reaction are mutually causal. For example, B's speech is a response to A's speech and also a stimulus to A. Fourth, in interpersonal communication, both parties should have a unified or similar coding system and decoding system. This not only means that both sides should have the same vocabulary and grammar system, but also have the same understanding of semantics. Semantics depend to a great extent on communicative situations and social backgrounds. Differences in communication occasions and communicators' social, political, religious, professional and status will have an impact on semantic understanding.

Social psychology mainly studies the concept, function, principle, influencing factors, occurrence conditions, obstacles, occurrence process and measurement methods of interpersonal relationship.
