Scenic spots of tour guide knowledge: Arctic Village-Finland's scenic spots and historical sites

The Arctic Village is a newly-built tourist attraction in Finland and the new residence of Santa Claus. It is located in Ami, Rovani, the capital of Rabi province in northern Finland.

The setting of the Arctic Village attractions was inspired by the wife of American President Roosevelt. At that time, just after the Second World War, Mrs. Roosevelt visited Ami, Rovani, Finland. The city was razed to the ground in the war, and there were almost no attractions to visit. This made the Finnish government very embarrassed. At last, it had to build a cabin with an area of about 1 square meters across the Arctic Circle on the outskirts of the city, that is, 66 33 ′ 7 ″ north latitude and 25 5 ′ 51 ″ east longitude, for Mrs. Roosevelt to stop and enjoy the polar scenery. This cabin is the embryonic form of the Arctic Village.

This small cabin has given people great enlightenment, and Finns think this wonderful and considerable geography. It was very attractive to foreigners, so they began to build the Arctic Village. In the 196s, a map sign board marked with the location of the polar circle was set up, shops selling polar tourist souvenirs and postal signs specially accepting Santa Claus' mail appeared one after another, and the "Arctic Village" began to take shape.

Today, there is a monument to the Arctic Circle written in four languages on the tree of the town mouth of the Arctic Village. As a proof of foreign tourists' activities across the Arctic Circle, tourists have taken photos with it. The cabin where Mrs. Roosevelt stopped at that time has become a cafe. It exists in the "Arctic Village" like a small footnote in the historical process.

The natural scenery of the Arctic Village is very wonderful. When you visit here in summer, you can enjoy the unforgettable midnight sun. When you come here in winter, you can see the rare Northern Lights in the world in the clear sky where the sun doesn't shine day and night. The "Santa Claus Hometown Project" here adds icing on the cake to the Arctic customs, which makes visitors linger.

The local indigenous Sami people deliberately built the hotel's appearance very crude, mostly made of logs that seem to be unadorned. In the resort, they deliberately left a dead tree without leaves and skins to decorate the rough polar scenery. There are also peaceful reindeer on the highway. When visitors come to the Arctic Village, they can sit on the sledge pulled by deer in winter and enjoy gold panning in the sand in the "Gold Rushing Village" in summer.

The "Santa Claus Workshop" in the Arctic Village is even more attractive. It is a Christmas gift shop. The quality of gifts is very demanding, and they must be exquisite, high-quality and top-grade, and they are genuine Finnish goods. In the corner of the "Santa Claus Workshop", there are Santa Claus meets guests from all over the world here. Mail and phone calls from all over the world are handled by a group of "fairy children" wearing pointed red hats, commonly known as "elves". If someone suddenly receives a parcel from Finland on his birthday, naming day or Christmas, it must be that his relatives and friends told Santa his wishes when they visited the Arctic Village. Now, this interesting activity is attracting more and more people from all over the world to participate.
