On the morning of August 15th, we arrived at the second stop of our trip to Hubei - Enshi Grand Canyon.
I’ve been to Zhangjiajie, a place with singing birds and fragrant flowers, and strange peaks and rocks, to Wugong Mountain in the alpine meadows, to Fenghuang Ancient City with ethnic characteristics, and never been to the picturesque Enshi Grand Canyon.
Enshi Grand Canyon is divided into two scenic spots: Qixingzhai Scenic Area and Yunlong Ground Seam Scenic Area. We first went to Qixingzhai Scenic Area. Sitting on the scenic bus, looking out the window, I saw many birds chirping on the branches. The scenery under the mountain was so charming. In the fog, I vaguely saw the continuous mountains, the cliff plank road on the top of the mountain, and the waves of people coming to visit. After getting out of the car, I ran towards the canyon excitedly. Waves of breeze blew against my face, and I suddenly felt refreshed and relaxed!
We need to take the cable car to the top of the mountain to visit. After getting off the cable car and walking on the uneven stone path, we inadvertently arrived at the "Cliff Corridor". Unfortunately, the corridor was temporarily closed during maintenance. We did not go on the thrilling cliff path. We were so disappointed! Continuing forward, we saw stones from hundreds of millions of years ago: the deep love between mother and child, the organ stone, the peaks at the gate of the building, the welcoming pines... The beautiful scenery was everywhere, and I asked my mother to take pictures for me.
Finally, we came to one of the most famous attractions in the Grand Canyon: "One Pillar of Incense." You may ask: "Is an incense stick a fragrant stone?" If so, you are totally wrong. It is one hundred and fifty meters high and only four meters wide, like a stick of incense. The Tianzhu stands among the lofty mountains. It is abrupt and shocking, proud and independent. It is small at the bottom and large at the top. It is named because it looks like a stick of incense from a distance. It makes people amazed at the first sight.
After walking down the mountain, we went to explore the bottom of the valley. The bus took us to the entrance of Yunlong Crevice. Following the steps going down, we came to the bottom of the canyon. From time to time, cool mountain spring water dripped down above our heads, which was refreshing. Suddenly, a string of stone curtains like door curtains came into view on a cliff. According to the introduction, it is called Waterfall Flower. It is a calcium carbonate precipitate. Its formation often takes tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of years. The plants here are dense, and groundwater seeps out from the roots of the plants all year round. Along the main water channel, calcium carbonate precipitates on the ground cracks and cliffs to form waterfalls, hanging vertically. What a special view! The canyon is only about 20 meters wide, with mountains above and rivers below, with a drop of more than 100 meters. Along the way, I saw many waterfalls with names but no names, such as Colorful Huanglong Falls, Rainbow Falls, Yunlong Falls... ...After reading this, I was reminded of a poem: "The water is flying down three thousand feet, it seems that the Milky Way is falling from the sky"!
Walking out of the crack in the ground, I reluctantly said goodbye to the Grand Canyon and the crack in the ground. I am still recalling those beautiful and charming scenery until now. Enshi Grand Canyon Travel Notes 2
Everyone must have seen the Colorado Grand Canyon in the newspapers. This time, I came to the "Colorado of China" - Enshi Grand Canyon.
First of all, we took the transparent "small waist" elevator to reach the Yunlong seam, which is known as "the most beautiful scar in the world". As soon as the elevator door opened, I was hit by the cool wind. There is a strange scene in front of me: the surrounding rocks are like swimming waves, crisscrossing towards me; they are also like graceful fairies, showing me their graceful dancing postures. It has a continuous and soft charm!
While I was immersed in it, suddenly, a stream of cool water droplets rushed towards me quickly, and the sound of "swishing" water rushed into my ears impatiently. On my left side there is a wisp of transparent "silk" pouring down from the top. It is so graceful, with silky water flowing down slowly; and it is so wild, roaring and splashing water one after another. Looking up, a giant dragon is lying on a seam in the ground: the long wavy body is its body, the irregular block in front is its head, the fan-like blank space behind is its tail, and four long and thin strips. The forks are the claws.
Go forward along the mountain road until the end of the crack in the ground is my "favorite" - taking the cable car. "When you reach the top, you can see all the mountains and small mountains at a glance." I really enjoy this feeling of being high up. All kinds of green on the mountain can be seen: tender green, emerald green, dark green, dark green, one after another jumped into my sight, like a splash-ink landscape painting, which made me wander and lose myself...
After getting off the cable car, the abyss beneath my feet told me that I was already standing on a cliff plank. Holding on to the railing and looking down, the scenery in front of me made me fall into a trance: there was not one single peak, nor three or five peaks echoing each other, but thousands and thousands of them, high or low, dangerous or slow, dense or sparse. Countless emerald peaks. Gradually, I felt as if I was also a member of this mountain peak: my legs were close together and firmly connected to the ground, and my hands and hair turned into lush trees in the landscape, swaying and dancing in the breeze.
When the golden light of the setting sun enveloped the earth, I stood at the end of the journey.
I looked at the majestic Enshi Grand Canyon with reluctance, and fixed its last appearance in my mind. Enshi Grand Canyon Travel Notes Essay 3
It’s summer vacation, and my three family members and I went to Enshi Grand Canyon to play.
We first took the cable car up the mountain. The cable car moved slowly towards the top of the mountain. When it was almost at the end, my mother pointed to the towering cliff in the distance and said to me: "Look at the thin black line on the mountainside. That is the cliff path we will take soon!" I looked in the direction of my mother's finger: the continuous mountains stood up like a huge screen, and there was a curved black line looming high on the almost vertical cliff. My friends and I both exclaimed, a little excited and a little timid.
After getting off the cable car, we passed through nature’s uncanny maze of stone buds, passed through the dark and mysterious sky, turned around a mountain peak, and suddenly found that we were standing on the edge of a cliff, a winding road. The path stretches around the mountain wall into the distance. The path is about one meter wide, with a mountain wall on one side and an iron railing like a twisted tree branch on the other. I held my mother's hand tightly, stuck my head out and looked down: Oh my god, this road is suspended! There is a cliff at our feet! The houses at the foot of the mountain and the cars crawling on the mountain road are so small that they can be pinched with two fingers. Mom said we were about 300 meters above the ground. Oh my gosh, that's as high as a 100-story building! My heart was beating wildly and my legs were shaking a little. I held my mother's hand tightly and walked carefully against the stone wall, for fear that the road would shake. After walking for a while, I gradually became bolder. With so many people walking on it, this plank road did not move at all, so it must be very strong.
Advancing along the plank road, we went vertically upwards for a while, spiraled downwards for a while, got into the embrace of the mountains, and stood outside the cliffs for a while. When we stood on the observation deck at the corner of the cliff, it felt like we were standing in mid-air. My friends and I cheered excitedly down the mountain.
While walking on the plank road, I also found many thick iron rings dug deeply into the mountain wall. Dad said this was the iron ring that workers used to fix the road piles when building the plank road. To build this plank road, you must first drive piles on the cliff, then lay out planks and pour cement. This was done using construction methods that existed during the Warring States Period thousands of years ago, and then using modern technology.
The Enshi Grand Canyon Plank Road is 488 meters long and has 188 steps. It took nearly two years to complete.
Looking at this unique road on the cliff, I really admire the wisdom of our ancestors and the bravery of the construction workers!
