Where is Tongli Ancient Town worth visiting?

Suzhou Tongli Ancient Town is a water town with a long history, located in the southeast of Wuzhong District, Suzhou, and is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Suzhou. The well-preserved century-old architecture, unique water town characteristics and traditional handicrafts of Tongli Ancient Town have attracted many tourists to visit, taste local snacks and deeply experience the water town culture in the south of the Yangtze River. Shanghai Hongqiao → Suzhou Station, transfer? Take subway line 4 to the terminal in Tongli direction, and the subway is expected to be 1 hour.

It varies from person to person and is not recommended. There are many clean and affordable homestays, so be careful that the environment of the river view room will be a little wet ~

5. Introduction of scenic spots:

(1) Retreat Garden: The only quadrangle in the south of the Yangtze River that has been listed in the World Cultural Heritage List is a model of private garden architecture in China in the late Qing Dynasty. The meaning of quitting the garden is "to retreat and think about it", which is taken from Zuo Zhuan and "to be faithful to thinking, to retreat and make up for it". Leslie Cheung and Gong Li starred in the film "Romantic Moon", which was filmed here. This is a wonderful film, which is worth seeing.

(2) Geng Letang: The residence of Zhu Xiang, a senior official in the Ming Dynasty, is a representative of private houses in the Ming Dynasty.

(3) Pearl Tower: the mansion of Chen Yudao, a bureaucrat in Ming Dynasty, which is divided into East House, West Courtyard and North Ancestral Hall. This is the place where the famous local opera "Pearl Tower" was born. Unfortunately, due to the renovation, I didn't see the Pearl Tower on this trip. Chen Wangdao's former residence, which served as Nanjing's supervisor during Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, consists of four buildings: Yushidi, Chenjia Garden, Chen Jiahuan Memorial archway and ancestral temple. The most beautiful place is Chenjia Garden, which is also an exquisite garden. I must go, but this place is remote compared with other scenic spots, and many tourists have missed it. Often the Third Bridge is crowded, but the tourists here are like in Xanadu.

(4) Jiayin Hall: Built in 1922, it is said that it is the house in front of the Third Bridge where the poet Liu Yazi lived.

(5) Chongben Hall: It is now the wedding custom hall in Jiangnan water town.

(6) Three Bridges: cheung tsing bridge, Geely Bridge and Taiping Bridge. I heard that if you cross all three bridges, you will get happiness! The three adjacent stone bridges, Taiping Bridge, Geely Bridge and cheung tsing bridge, are symbols of good luck and happiness for people in Tongli. Be sure to find a place along the river to eat near the Third Bridge. At around 7: 00 p.m., the lights on the banks of Sanqiao River will light up gradually, and fog will start to flow on the banks, just like a fairyland.

Finally ... Gourmet Raiders: I don't know any restaurants that are particularly expensive or commercial. I recommend two restaurants with high cost performance and authentic taste: ① Within the scenic area: Laijun Dim Sum Shop, time-honored word-of-mouth shop! Euryale ferox porridge 6 yuan, mint mung bean cake 3 yuan, eel noodles 18 yuan …

② At the entrance of the scenic spot, it is far from the core scenic spot 1km: Gantong Lisu flavor noodle restaurant, fried pork chop noodles 15 yuan, so delicious! However, it should be noted that only breakfast and lunch are open here. Running for nothing = walking 4 kilometers just to eat noodles, it's really delicious …

Personal experience:

You can rent a Hanfu suit before visiting the ancient town. The Hanfu Experience Store near Guzhen is quite cost-effective, and the price is about 150 yuan, including makeup and clothing, which can be rented for a whole day.

Ships come and go from Luoxingzhou every half hour. You can visit this scenic spot in half an hour, and you can go back after visiting the scenic spot by boat.

Luoxingzhou is outside Tongli Ancient Town, and it takes only 20 minutes to walk from the ancient town to Luoxingzhou Cruise Terminal. You can also take a battery car from the ancient town (2 yuan/person is not included in the ticket).
