Songshan Nature Reserve was established in 1985, and was designated as a national nature reserve with the approval of the State Council in 1986.

There are 7 13 species of vascular plants in Songshan nature reserve, covering an area of nearly 70,000 mu. Vertebrate 184 species (subspecies). Among the plant resources, there are more than 300 kinds of medicinal plants. Among the animal resources, there are related birds 125 species (subspecies) and 80 species of breeding birds. There are 15 species listed as national key protection objects.

Songshan Hot Spring has a water temperature of 45 degrees Celsius and a sunrise of 2,000 cubic meters. Spring water contains 27 kinds of elements such as potassium, magnesium, sulfur and iron, among which the fluorine ion content is as high as 12ml/L, which has remarkable curative effect on dermatoses, arthritis, rheumatoid diseases and local neuralgia.
