Thoughts after reading "Xu Xiake's Travels"

I was very inspired after reading the book "Xu Xiake's Travels". I learned that Xu Xiake traveled twenty-four times in his life, experienced all kinds of hardships, and wandered away from the great rivers and mountains of his motherland. It taught me that as long as I have perseverance, the courage to struggle, and the spirit of overcoming difficulties, there is no way out.

In the cold winter of 1586 AD, Xu Xiake was born in a small village in Mazhen, Jiangyin. His father was already 41 years old on the day he was born. His mother, Wang Ziru, had an unusual dream when she was pregnant with Xu Xiake. The dream was strange. After Xu Xiake was born, his parents named him Hongzu, and later Zhenzhi, in the hope that Xu Xiake would grow up. It can bring glory to the ancestors and revitalize the Xu family that has fallen into decline. Xu Xiake is the second son of Xu Youmian (Xu Xiake's father). His outstanding performance as a child made his parents full of greater hope for him. The Xu family experienced tragic experiences on the road to the imperial examination, but it was completely changed by Xu Youmian. Xu Xiake himself did not like to read the Four Books and Five Classics, but ancient and modern history, the Classic of Mountains and Seas, and was especially interested in the scenic spots in various places. . When Xu Xiake was 19 years old, his father died of illness, and his mother took on the burden of the family. Xu Xiake made his first trip when he was 22 years old and lasted until the year before his death. In more than 30 years, he made 2,000 trips. Among them, he was robbed twice and ran out of food three times. His friends died and he fled to live. The hardships did not dampen Xu Xiake's determination to travel.

Great times produce great people, and it is because of Xu Xiake’s perseverance, courage to struggle, and willpower to overcome difficulties that he completed a book - "Xu Xiake's Travels" within his lifetime.

Students, maybe on the road of life, whether we want it or not, the first thing we do when we are born is to learn to walk. Now we have bikes to ride wherever we go, which is convenient and fast, and Xu Xiake At that time, he traveled to the great rivers and mountains of the motherland. What did he use to travel all over the country? He used a pair of feet! Classmates, let us learn from Xu Xiake’s willpower, learn from his spirit, and let us Yingqiao strive for our goals. Let’s do it!
