Shaoyang, historically known as "Baoqing". It borders Hengyang City to the east, Lingling Prefecture and Guilin Prefecture of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to the south, Huaihua Prefecture to the west, and Loudi Prefecture to the north; ranging from 25°58' to 27°40' north latitude and 109°49' east longitude. ~112°57', with a total area of ??20,876 square kilometers.
