What scenic spots were destroyed by the Jiuzhaigou earthquake
Jiuzhaigou is a famous scenic spot in Sichuan Province, China, famous for its magnificent natural scenery and rich Tibetan culture. However, on August 8, 2017, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake destroyed this beautiful place. The earthquake caused huge casualties and massive property losses, and also destroyed many famous scenic spots in Jiuzhaigou.
Zhangfei Ancient Road
Zhangfei Ancient Road is an ancient road that passes through the true color of Jiuzhaigou Valley. It is famous for its Three-Eyed Bridge and Thousand Miles of Everlasting Pines, and is one of the iconic landscapes of Jiuzhaigou Valley. However, the Zhangfei Ancient Road suffered serious damage during the earthquake. Much of the mountain and cliffs collapsed and slid, tumbling rocks and dirt onto the road, rendering the famous road almost impassable. Although the road has been repaired during post-earthquake restoration efforts, it is no longer a shadow of the majestic landscape it once was.
Five Flowers Sea
Five Flowers Sea is one of the most famous attractions in Jiuzhaigou. It is made up of five lakes, each with different colors and textures, very beautiful. As the surrounding trees and peaks are reflected on the lake, it creates a magnificent and gorgeous scene. Wuhuahai also suffered huge losses during the earthquake. Landslides and collapses occurred on the mountains surrounding the lake, and large amounts of rock and soil fell into the lake, causing the water to become turbid. In addition, the earthquake damaged many facilities and stands, making it difficult for visitors to enjoy the full landscape.
Panda Sea
Panda Sea is another famous attraction in Jiuzhaigou. It is named after the shape of black and white pandas in the pond. Panda Sea is composed of green trees and huge white rocks inserted into the water. However, Panda Sea was hit hard by the earthquake. Mountain peaks around the lake slide and collapse, tumbling rocks and mud into the lake, causing the water to become murky and difficult to read. In addition, the earthquake also damaged nearby vegetation, making the entire scenic spot turn yellow.
Summary
The earthquake caused huge losses to Jiuzhaigou, causing Jiuzhaigou to lose the charm of many famous scenic spots. Although many efforts have been made in subsequent restoration works, many of the attractions have been unable to return to their former glory. Hopefully there will be more initiatives in the future to protect Jiuzhaigou Valley and make it one of the most stunning natural landscapes in the world.
