What's the experience of living in fresh water?

Watching China's new songs, Jay Chou talked about the happiness and pride of his alma mater.

"Our school is very mysterious. Really like making a movie ... The afternoon sun slanted on the piano ... "

How mysterious is it? (Small public show smug face)

Let's spend a day visiting Danshui, the town where Jay grew up.

Danshui is located on the northwest coast of New Taipei City, Taiwan Province Province, and on the north bank of Danshui River. This used to be the largest port in Taiwan's history. When the weather is fine, you can see the whole picture of Danshui River when you take off from Taoyuan Airport.

Ancient shipping was developed, so fresh water was also the starting point for the spread of western civilization in northern Taiwan Province Province.

Take the Taipei MRT Tamsui Line to the end and you will arrive at Tamsui.

There is a free passenger map at the exit; There is not much fresh water, so renting a bicycle is the best choice. In addition, if you don't know the place along the way, you can ask your cycling partner. They are much more accurate than Google Maps.

150 nt (the price five years ago) is it super cheap to rent a bicycle for five hours?

The scenic spots of Danshui are basically on both sides of Zhongzheng Road, so a one-day tour of Danshui life is to follow the sunshine, go to journey to the south, and finally go to Fisherman's Wharf to watch the sunset.

Walk right from the MRT station for three minutes and arrive at the first stop: Shell Story Club (No.22, Nose Street), also known as Shell Warehouse.

This is the warehouse of the former British businessman Jiashi Foreign Firm. 1860, Beijing opened Danshui as a trading port, and Shell bought this warehouse as the warehouse of Shell Company. During World War II, the artillery warehouse was bombed by the US military for three days and three nights. Later, with the development of expressway, the port transportation advantage of fresh water gradually faded, and the shell warehouse gradually lost its economic value.

Shell warehouse covers an area of more than 3,000 square meters (Taiwan Province Province 1 square meter =3.3 square meters). Brick masonry and wooden beam structure in Qing dynasty were the architectural features of 19 to the beginning of the 20th century.

Walk left from the MRT station for three minutes, and you will find Tanshui. Its name is Zhongzheng Street.

Every small town has a street called "Old Street", which is the most prosperous street in the town. The same is true of fresh water, where snacks, food and time-honored brands gather.

The old street is crowded, so sometimes you need to get off when riding a bike.

Tanshui is a suitable place to visit at night. Put aside your bike, put down your stomach and enjoy the delicious food in the night market!

I think Taiwan Province Province is a place that doesn't need dinner, and night market snacks are always full of choices with different tastes for ten and a half days.

Famous food in the old street:

1. Zhongzheng Road 135 Apo Iron Egg is a snack mentioned in almost every Danshui travel book, which has a history of more than 30 years.

2. Venetian Wenzhou Wonton, Zhongzheng Road 177, is refreshing and cost-effective.

3. Zhongzheng Road 184 Xu Yi Fish Crisp, with crisp and solid taste, is a very popular handwritten letter.

From Tanshui to Qingshui Street, you will see Qingshuiyan Ancestral Temple.

Qingshuiyan Ancestral Temple is one of the three ancestral temples in Taipei. It was rebuilt in 1932, but it has been more than 900 years since Qingshuiyan dedicated its ancestor statues. There are many legends about ancestor statues. It is said that this statue once appeared as a warning, and people were surprised to report it. Everyone left home to watch. Just then, an earthquake suddenly happened and the whole village was destroyed. But because the villagers did everything and there was no one in the village, no one was killed or injured. It is also said that during the Sino-French war, the grandfathers were once majestic and did not dare to retreat in front of the French soldiers; Wait a minute. The phantom of this ancestor statue is provided by Qingshui Rock and Freshwater Rock alternately.

Every year, the sixth day of the fifth lunar month is the most lively day in Danshui, because it is said that this day is the day when ancestors gained enlightenment, which shows the importance of Qingshuiyan ancestral temple in the local belief in Danshui.

Two minutes' walk west from Qingshuiyan Ancestral Temple leads to an older Fu You Palace.

The temple is dedicated to Mazu, also known as Mazu Palace. People who go out to sea worship Mazu, and in the inscription on the front hall wall, the story of building a lighthouse in Danshui estuary is recorded.

From the stone steps on the hillside next to Fu You Palace, we arrived at Rebuilding Street, the oldest street in Danshui.

It used to be as prosperous as today's pool; But now, here and the old street under the hillside are two worlds.

/kloc-From 0/9 to the Japanese occupation in the 20th century, it was a bustling commercial street, known as "the first street at the end of Shanghai". (Danshui Town was originally named Huwei)

It used to be a place where the rich lived together, and the first tap water system in Taiwan Province Province was installed here.

Today, it is the settlement of cultural creators, and you can still see the shadow of Japan on the road of reconstruction. The design of roads and houses on both sides is very similar to the feeling of Japanese towns on TV. There are many literary and art studios. If you have time, it is worth walking slowly, strolling slowly and rebuilding the streets.

1. Vanilla Street House, with a history of nearly 90 years, was originally a puppet show theme pavilion. Now the second generation of homeowners have changed their old houses into vanilla street houses, promoted local agricultural products and returned to home life. Here, visitors can make an appointment to learn incense sticks, vanilla soap and so on.

2. Under the influence of the owner of Vanilla Street, Jiuge, the owner of "928" art space, decided to practice his dream. He displays and sells his and his artist friends' works in the house. The balcony on the second floor overlooks the Danshui River, which is a good place to enjoy the river view!

3.Blue Doguya, mainly hand-made blue dyed clothes, makes blue dyeing fashionable, and visitors can experience blue dyeing courses and graffiti.

4. New Boli Happiness Bookstore, there is a "cat counter" in the study room, which not only has books related to cats, but also sells around cats. Cat lovers must not miss it!

Leave Reconstruction Street, return to Tanshui, continue to set off to the northwest, and follow the navigation to reach Danshui Chapel and Huweikai Hospital soon.

Ma Kai is an important missionary in the history of fresh water. He is a Canadian Christian missionary. He arrived in Danshui on 1972 and began to preach. He vowed to preach here all his life. The missionary work in northern Taiwan Province Province was started by Dr. Ma Kai.

Now the Danshui Chapel and Huweikai Hospital are located, which used to be the residence of Dr. Ma Kai in Danshui. 1880, with the support of Canadian folks, Dr. Ma Kai changed his residence to Yiguang, the first western hospital in Taiwan Province Province, namely Huweikai Hospital; The doctor's dormitory in Yiguang, now the Danshui Chapel, was designed and rebuilt by Ma Kai's son.

In addition to practicing medicine to save lives, preaching and teaching, Dr. Ma Kai also vigorously promoted the education in Taiwan Province Province. He founded Oxford University, now Truth University, at 1883. Xie Ruilian, son of Ma Kai, founded Tamkang Middle School on 1925. Ma Kai was buried in Tamkang Middle School after his death, so Ma Kai Cemetery remained in the middle school.

Today's Huwei Hospital is actually a coffee shop. Besides selling coffee, the store also displays related cultural relics and records the life of Dr. Ma Kai.

Next to the hospital is a fresh water chapel, a red brick imitation Goethe-style church, a square bell tower and an ancient organ, which have been built for more than a hundred years. This is also the first choice for many fresh water newcomers to take wedding photos.

It's a little further from the church, and it's almost fresh water.

After lunch, cross the main fresh water road and walk to the opposite hillside. The former official residence of Qingshui Customs and Taxation Bureau, Tamkang Middle School, Truth University, the former British consular residence and Hongmao City are all together.

Push your bike up the ramp, and you will find that mountains and mountains taste different.

Danshui Town at the foot of the mountain still retains a strong flavor of Taiwan Province Province. Most of the mountains are European red bricks. The mountain is noisy and quiet, just like another world.

The first place to arrive is the official residence of the former tax bureau, also known as the "Little White House".

The whole building is white walls and red tiles, and there are several regularly symmetrical arches next to the cloister, which visually makes people feel like the White House. It used to be the official residence of the fresh water customs and tax bureau in Qing Dynasty. 1862, Yangguan was formally established, so three luxury houses were built for Yangguan officials. Later, the unequal treaties were lifted, and foreign customs officials withdrew from Taiwan Province Province. The Little White House is now an exhibition hall.

Opposite the small white house is Tamkang Middle School.

Tamkang Middle School is a private Tamkang senior high school. It is not only Jay Chou's alma mater, but also Jay Chou's parents' work unit. Jay's father is a physics teacher in Tamkang Middle School and Jay's mother is an art teacher in Tamkang Middle School.

Tamkang Middle School is the first private middle school in Taiwan Province Province, founded by Xie Ruilian, the son of Dr. Ma Kai, so the architectural style of the campus is also western. Tamkang Middle School is also the location of the film "Unspeakable Secrets". Visiting the campus needs to be before 4 pm, but Baidu says Tamkang Middle School is no longer open to tourists.

Keep walking along Truth Street, and you will reach Truth University.

The architectural style of Truth University is very similar to Tamkang Middle School. Truth University, founded by Dr. Ma Kai, has a longer history than Tamkang Middle School. This is Chen Handian's alma mater. The campus is tree-lined, and there are many historical sites related to Dr. Ma Kai, such as Ma Kai's former residence, pastor's hall, pastor's building and girls' building.

Further west, you will reach the former British Consulate and Hongmao City.

Hongmao Town was originally a European-style castle built by the Spanish when they invaded the northern part of Taiwan Province Province in 1626, formerly known as "Santo Domingo City"; About 1642, the Dutch stationed in the south of Taiwan Province Province drove the Spanish out of Taipei and rebuilt the castle on the original site of Santo Domingo, naming it "San Antonio Castle". Because the Dutch hair is red, the locals call it "the city of red hair".

1662, Zheng Chenggong expelled the Dutch, and Hongmao City became a deserted city. It was not until the late Qing Dynasty that the British rented Hongmaocheng as the "British Consulate" that Hongmaocheng became hot again.

The whole area of Hongmao City is divided into two parts: Hongmao City and Consulate: the main castle of Hongmao City is square, suitable for defense, with deep foundation, thick walls and towering terrain, and the bunker faces the sea; The consulate is located in the east of Hongmao City. 1867 was built by the British, and now it is a museum of freshwater monuments.

Hongmao City can be regarded as a must-see spot for freshwater tourism. It can not only understand the history of freshwater, but also overlook the Danshui River and Guanyin Mountain on the other side.

It's about ten minutes' journey from Hongmaocheng to Yidishui Memorial Hall.

In the eyes of local people, the old street is a place to live. If you want to ask about the scenic spots in Danshui, they will all say that they point to this side of the mountain:

From Rebuilding Street to Hongmao City to Drip Memorial Hall, that is the essence of fresh water!

Yidishui Memorial Hall is a Japanese-style ancient residential building demolished by Japan to Taiwan Province Province in 2009 to thank Taiwan Province Province for its help in the "3 1 1" earthquake in Japan.

A drop of water was originally built in a building in Oimachi, Fukui Prefecture, Japan. It was demolished and moved to Danshui in 2004 and rebuilt in 2009. It was named a drop of water in memory of its original owner, Mr. Tsutomu Minakami, who inherited the Zen thought of "the grace of dripping water" from the Japanese Zen master all his life and advocated cherishing all resources, even a trivial drop of water can make the best use of it.

As soon as I stepped into a drop of water paradise, I felt like I was in Japan. More than 600 beams and columns in the house did not use a nail, which shows the peak of wooden structure construction.

Yishui Memorial Hall is backed by Danshui Golf Course, and you can walk along the middle of the golf course to Huwei Fort.

Huwei Castle is one of the few well-preserved Western-style fortress buildings in the world. Liu Mingchuan, the first governor of Taiwan Province Province, inscribed the words "North Gate Lock Key" on his forehead. Understanding the history of the invasion of China by British and French allied forces in the late Qing Dynasty is very helpful for understanding the history of fresh water.

The location of Huwei Fort is hidden and there are few tourists, so it is suitable for walking around.

Down from the mountain, you can go directly to Fisherman's Wharf.

Be sure to arrive before sunset, because Lover Bridge is the best place to enjoy the sunset. Many northern Renye Fang go to Danshui to watch the sunset, especially the lovers in love.

Walking along the long trestle, facing the sunset, the dock is full of returning fishing boats.

Couples hold hands on the bridge, couples watch the scenery on the bridge, and tourists watching the scenery look at you on the trestle.

As the sun sets, the sea is sparkling, reflecting the noise of fresh water.

As night falls, the Lover's Bridge emits colorful lights, and the seafood shops near the pier begin to be lively. This is the end of the day and the beginning of the day.

There are the earliest imported western civilizations and the most traditional ancient life here.
