Gemo Temple in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, also known as Huiyuan Temple, was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 200 years. This indoor seated Maitreya Buddha statue is made of brass, with a net height of 37 meters from the rosette to the top bun, the widest part of the Buddha's body is 20.672 meters, and a total weight of approximately 332 tons, making it undoubtedly the tallest indoor seated Maitreya Buddha statue in China.

In 2018, this indoor statue also won the title of "China's tallest seated Maitreya Buddha statue (indoor)" and the highest in the Guinness Book of World, attracting many tourists.
