The development history of Jingzhou Museum
The predecessor of the Jingzhou Museum was the Jingzhou Working Group of the Hubei Provincial Museum of Culture and History established in 1951 and the Jingsha Branch of the Hubei Provincial Cultural Relics Protection and Management Committee. At that time, the Jingzhou Prefectural Committee and the Prefectural Committee appointed Comrade Wang Qianqing (the deputy county magistrate of Jiangling County in the early days of liberation) to preside over the preparatory work. Kaiyuan Temple was selected as the site of the museum. The funds were allocated by the Prefectural Committee and the United Front Department of the Prefectural Committee respectively, and were directly spent by the Culture and Education Bureau of the Special Administrative Region.
Two staff members were transferred in 1952 (they were transferred away in 1953), and Comrade Yang Yuanfa was transferred in 1953. Due to the small staffing level, county professionals are often temporarily transferred or elderly people with certain historical knowledge are hired, such as Dai Qisheng from Zhongxiang and Zhang Mizhi from Jiangling, to participate in the identification and research of cultural and historical materials, and to publicize and implement national cultural relics protection policies. In 1954, after Comrade Wang Qianqing was transferred to the province, Comrade Peng Guiquan was transferred as director until 1957. In order to grasp the general distribution of cultural relics in the region To strengthen the protection and management of cultural relics, the Bureau of Culture and Education in 1957 assigned full-time cadres to conduct surveys of key cultural relics areas to prepare for the promotion of a census of cultural relics in the region.
In 1958, with the approval of the Commissioner’s Office, the Jingzhou District Museum of Hubei Province was officially established, under the jurisdiction of the Jingzhou District Culture and Education Bureau. The museum is a cultural relic and museum institution in the region. It is responsible for the investigation, exploration, protection, collection and archaeological excavation of cultural relics in the region. It holds historical cultural relics and some temporary exhibitions, receives domestic and foreign visitors, and is responsible for the protection of cultural relics in the collection. and maintenance, and carry out archaeological and museological research. At that time, Comrade Chen Tingji and Comrade Huang Shenggui served as deputy directors respectively. In 1960, Comrade Li Shisun was transferred to the museum as deputy director. In 1961, with the approval of the Jingzhou Special Administrative Office, the former Jingsha Branch of the Hubei Provincial People's Government Cultural Relics Protection and Management Committee was renamed "Hubei Province Jingzhou Special District Cultural Relics Protection and Management Committee". Chairman Jiang Hong (Deputy Commissioner of the Administrative Office), Office Director Tan Daoshan, Deputy Director Li Shisun and others. Although this organization is a regional cultural relics management organization, it does not have additional cadres, and the museum is still responsible for the specific business work.
In 1964, Comrade Li Shisun served as deputy director of the museum. In 1965, the staff establishment was 8 people, including 1 administrative person and 7 business staff.
In 1966, when the Cultural Revolution began, the museum established a new revolutionary leadership group, with Comrade Teng Rensheng as the leader and 6 employees, including 5 business staff.
In 1969, the museum was renamed "Jiangling County Exhibition Hall" and was under the management of Jiangling County. The exhibition contents were mainly agricultural, and the rent collection courtyard exhibition was also held.
In 1971, the museum was returned to regional management and the Jingzhou Regional Museum Revolutionary Leading Group was restored. Comrade Gao Daocheng was transferred to the museum as party branch secretary.
In April 1973, with the approval of the Regional Cultural Bureau, the name of the original "Museum Revolutionary Leading Group" was changed to "Jingzhou Regional Museum of Hubei Province". At that time, the total number of people in the museum was 16, and the internal organization included administrative team (3 people), business team (11 people), and logistics team (2 people).
In August 1974, Comrade Teng Rensheng served as deputy secretary of the party branch of the museum. In September 1975, Comrade Zhang Xuqiu was appointed as the deputy director of the museum, and Comrade Liu Zhenfang was added as deputy secretary (transferred in April 1976).
From 1976 to 1977, the leadership team consisted of party branch secretary Gao Daocheng, deputy secretaries Zhang Peng and Teng Rensheng, and deputy directors Wang Yao and Zhang Xuqiu. The internal organizations include the cultural relics group, storage group, reception group, and logistics group. The staff establishment was 37 in 1976 and increased to 40 in 1977, including 20 party members. In 1978, Comrade Zhang Peng served as the director of the museum, and Comrades Li Shisun and Ding Sheke were added as deputy directors. Comrades Peng Hao and Chen Yuejun are the heads of the cultural relics group, Liu Lili is the head of the storage group, and there are also reception groups, logistics groups and other agencies. The total staff establishment of the library is 42 people, including 18 party members.
In 1979, Party branch secretary Gao Daocheng and deputy director Wang Yao were transferred, leaving the staff establishment at 51 people.
In 1980, Director Zhang Peng was transferred to the Regional Science and Technology Committee. In June, Comrade Liu Xiandu was transferred to the museum as deputy secretary of the party branch and director, Comrade Teng Rensheng was appointed as deputy secretary and deputy director, and Zhang Xuqiu, Li Shisun and Ding Sheke continued to serve as deputy directors. The internal organizations include the cultural relics team (team leader Chen Yuejun, deputy team leader Peng Hao), reception team (team leader Fan Dianzhao), storage team (team leader Huang Manhua), logistics team (team leader Zheng Zhongshan), and office (Liu Lili). There are 20 party members in the whole library. In addition, the museum site was built and expanded on the west side opposite Kaiyuan Temple (now the Municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital) and officially opened to the public.
In 1981, the members of the leadership team of the museum remained unchanged, and the staffing increased to 63 people (including 53 permanent employees).
In 1982, Comrade Liu Xiandu was appointed as party branch secretary.
In May 1983, Comrade Zheng Zhongshan was appointed as deputy director. In 1984, Comrade Li Shisun, deputy director of the museum, retired. In April, Party branch secretary Liu Xiandu was transferred to a hotel in Jingzhou area. The museum leadership team has made corresponding adjustments, approved by the regional Propaganda Department: Comrade Teng Rensheng is appointed as party branch secretary, Comrade Zhang Xuqiu is appointed as director, and comrades Ding Sheke, Zheng Zhongshan and Peng Hao are appointed as deputy directors.
The internal organizations include the Office (Director Huang Manhua), Cultural Relics and Archeology Department (Director Chen Yuejun), Cultural Relics Custody Department (Director Dai Shengping, Deputy Director Wu Shunqing), Display Art Department (Director Li Hongyue, Deputy Director Zhu You), and Mass Work Department ( Director Fan Dianzhao, Deputy Director Guo Chuanyu), Department of Revolutionary Cultural Relics (Deputy Director Duan Jiming, this agency was later transferred and abolished), General Affairs Section (Chief Hu Changyu), and Security Section (Deputy Section Chief Xie Yongman). In June of the same year, with the approval of the regional trade union, the museum trade union was formally established, with the chairman of the trade union Ding Sheke. The total staff strength of the library is 56, including 15 party members.
In 1985, the members of the leadership team remained unchanged. The museum site was relocated from the west side of Kaiyuan Temple (now Maternal and Child Health Hospital) to the east side of Kaiyuan Temple, and the new exhibition building was opened for trial exhibition.
In May 1986, Comrade Chen Yuejun, deputy director, was added. In June, with the approval of the Provincial Public Security Department, our embassy established a civilian police room. On June 11, the newly built museum exhibition building and treasure hall held an opening ceremony and were officially put on display. The total library staff has grown to 63 people.
From 1987 to 1990, the members of the leadership team remained unchanged, including Teng Rensheng (Secretary of the Party Branch), Zhang Xuqiu (Director), Ding Sheke, Zheng Zhongshan, Peng Hao, and Chen Yuejun (Deputy Director) )composition.
In 1987, the museum staff numbered 71, and a cultural preservation department was newly added to the internal organization.
In 1988, with the approval of the regional editorial board, the internal organizations were the office, archeology department, group work department, storage department, cultural preservation department, general affairs department, and security department, with a staffing of 72 people. In 1989, the number of staff increased to 83, including 4 associate research librarians and 24 librarians.
In 1990, the Department of Revolutionary Cultural Relics was added to the internal organization, with Comrade Guo Chuanyu as director. The total library staff increased to 90 people. The newly built Treasure Museum is officially open to the public.
In 1991, Comrade Wang Congli served as deputy director. Comrade Ding Sheke enjoys deputy county level treatment. Comrade Yu Yuanzhi serves as the deputy director of the office, Comrade Bao Renwei serves as the deputy director of the Outreach Department, and Comrade Li Hong serves as the deputy director of the Group Work Department.
In 1992, with the approval of the regional editorial board, four internal departments were added: "External Exhibition Department, Tourism Service Department, Cultural Relics Reproduction Technology Department, and Finance Department". Comrade Ding Sheke, deputy director and chairman of the labor union, passed away due to illness. There are 91 cadres and employees in the library.
In 1993, Comrade He Nu was appointed director of the Archaeological Department, and Chen Guantao was appointed director of the office. The number of cadres and employees in the library increased to 96.
In December 1994, Jingsha merged and the museum was renamed "Jingsha Jingzhou Museum". The State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Public Security have approved our museum as a first-level risk unit for cultural relics system museums. In April, the Municipal Tourism Bureau approved our museum as a designated foreign-related tourism unit. In the same year, Comrade Hu Changyu was appointed as deputy secretary of the party branch of our library. The number of cadres and employees in the library increased to 101.
In 1995, the Provincial Department of Culture approved our museum to establish the Jingsha Branch of the Hubei Provincial Cultural Relics Store. In December, the Organization Department of the Municipal Party Committee approved Comrade Chen Yuangao as secretary of the party branch of the museum, Zhang Xuqiu as director of the museum, and Teng Rensheng as honorary director. Peng Hao, Chen Yuejun, Hu Changyu, Zheng Zhongshan and Wang Congli serve as deputy directors. Wenqing of the hospital is appointed as the director of the display department. There are 102 cadres and employees in the library. In 1996, Comrade Wang Congli was appointed chairman of the trade union. Our museum has carried out internal organizational reforms and adjustments, appointing He Nu as the director of the Archeology Department, Liu Deyin and Chen Guantao as deputy directors, Ke Guangrong as the chief of the security department, Dai Shengping as the director of the preservation department, Gong Yingming as the director of the display department, and Li Hong as the group director. Director of the Ministry of Industry, Hou Chunzhen serves as the deputy director, Zhou Xiansu serves as the chief of the Finance Section, Guo Chuanyu serves as the chief of the General Affairs Section, Xie Yongman and Yang Gansong serve as deputy section chiefs, Shi Jiji serves as the service company manager, Zhu Jiangsong serves as the deputy manager, and Yu Yuanzhi serves as the director of Chu Le Palace. Zhang Qunying serves as the deputy director of the office, Shi Yufen serves as the manager of the Jingsha branch of the Provincial Cultural Relics Store, and Jinling serves as the deputy manager.
In 1997, our museum was renamed "Jingzhou Museum of Hubei Province". There are 97 cadres and employees in the library.
In October 1998, Comrade Chen Yuangao, Secretary of the Party Branch, was transferred from our embassy. The whole museum has carried out organizational reform. Zhang Wangao is appointed as the director of the archeology department, Liu Deyin and Chen Guantao are appointed as deputy directors, Chen Hualiang is appointed as the director of the storage department, Gong Yingming is appointed as the director of the display department, Li Hong is appointed as the director of the group work department, Zhang Qunying is appointed as the office director, and Yu Yuanzhi is appointed as the director of Chu Le Palace , Xiao Xuan is appointed as the section chief of the Ticketing Section, Liao Ping is appointed as the deputy section chief, Zhai Yuxin is appointed as the section chief of the General Affairs Section, Yang Gansong is appointed as the deputy section chief, and Shi Jiji is appointed as the service company manager. There are 93 cadres and employees in the library.
In April 1999, with the approval of the Municipal Editorial Committee, the Jingzhou Cultural Relics and Archaeological Exploration Team was established, affiliated with the museum, with one team and two brands. Further implementation of institutional reform, our library has 12 departments, namely office, general affairs department, finance department, security department, archeology department, cultural relics preservation department, display department, group work department, tourism service department, scattered cultural relics department, Chu Le Palace, Ticketing Department. There are 94 cadres and employees in the library. In July 2000, Comrade Fan Zhiqian was transferred to the deputy secretary of the Party branch of our library, Comrade Wang Mingqin was appointed as the deputy director, Comrade Zheng Zhongshan was appointed as the chairman of the labor union, and Comrade Chen Yuejun was appointed as the chief clerk. There are 95 cadres and employees in the library.
In 2001, organizational reforms and adjustments were implemented, the Ticketing Department was abolished and merged into the Finance Department. Zhu Yin was appointed as the Chief of the Finance Department, Xiao Xuan was appointed as the Director of the Group Work Department, Zhai Yuxin was appointed as the Director of the Custody Department, and Chen Hualiang was appointed as the Security Department. Section Chief, Yang Kaiyong serves as Office Director, Zhang Wangao and Liu Deyin serve as Deputy Directors of the Archeology Department. There are 94 cadres and employees in the library.
In May 2002, our library further implemented institutional reforms and adjustments, and established 10 departments, namely the Cultural Preservation Center (Wu Shunqing is the director), the Archeology Institute (Liu Deyin and Zhang Wangao are the deputy directors), Custody Department (Zhai Yuxin is the director), Display Department (Gong Yingming is the director), Group Work Department (Xiao Xuan is the director), Office (Yu Yuanzhi is the director), Security Department (Chen Hualiang is the section chief), Finance Department (Zhu Yin is the director) Section Chief), Chu Le Palace (Cheng Jie serves as Director) General Affairs Section (Yang Qansong serves as Section Chief). Cheng Jie was appointed as the director, Xiao Xuan was appointed as the director of the preservation department, and Jia Hanqing was appointed as the director of the Archaeological Institute. In July, the leadership team was adjusted. The original director, Comrade Zhang Xuqiu, postponed his retirement and was appointed as the honorary director. Comrade Liu Juan was transferred to the position of secretary of the party branch of the museum. Comrade Wang Mingqin was appointed as the director. Fan Zhiqian (concurrently serving as deputy secretary of the party branch and chairman of the labor union), Zhang Wangao and Liu Deyin serve as deputy curators, and Comrade Peng Hao serves as chief staff member.
In April 2004, the Exhibition Department was renamed the Exhibition Outreach Department, the Group Work Department was renamed the Mission Department, Li Hong was appointed as the Director of the Propaganda Department, Chu Le Palace became independent again, and Bao Renwei was appointed as the Director of Chu Le Palace. Peng Hao is appointed as the chief of the General Affairs Section, and Ding Jian is appointed as the office director.
In 2005, the first academic committee of Jingzhou Museum was established, with Zhang Wangao as the chairman; the Editorial Office of the Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China approved the establishment of the Xiong Jiazhong Archaeological Work Station of Jingzhou Museum; Li Liang was appointed as the deputy secretary of the Youth League branch of Jingzhou Museum .
In January 2006, Jingzhou Museum made adjustments to the cadres of various departments: Gong Yingming was appointed director of the exhibition and outreach department; Li Hong was appointed director of the propaganda and education department; Peng Hao was appointed chief of the administrative section; Yang Kaiyong was appointed deputy director of the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology ; Zhu Jiangsong is appointed as the deputy captain of the Cultural Relics Exploration Team; Fan Zhiqian is appointed as the chief clerk of the Jingzhou Museum and no longer serves as the deputy director of the museum and deputy secretary of the party branch; the Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee Editorial Office agreed to add Jingzhou City to the Xiong Jiazhong Archaeological Work Station of the Jingzhou Municipal Museum Xiong Jiazhong Management Office Brand; Zhang Xuqiu retired and no longer serves as the honorary director of Jingzhou Museum.
In May 2007, the Information Technology Department was established, with Jin Ling as director.
In 2008, the Jingzhou Museum was rated as a national first-class museum by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and is open to the public free of charge. In order to strengthen safety and security, a security emergency leadership group and an action team were established.
In 2009, Liu Deyin was appointed as deputy secretary of the Party branch of Jingzhou Museum; Jia Hanqing and Peng Hao were both elected as deputy directors of Jingzhou Museum.
In 2010, the Jingzhou Museum made adjustments to its middle-level cadres: Yang Kaiyong was appointed director of the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology, Zhao Xiaobin was appointed deputy director of the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology; Liu Wei was appointed chief of the Finance Section, and Zheng Mei was appointed deputy chief of the Finance Section; Lei Zhong Cui serves as deputy director of the office; Mao Fang serves as deputy director of the Propaganda Department; Cheng Jie serves as deputy director of the display department; Liu Lu serves as deputy director of the custody department; Xiao Yujun serves as deputy director of the information department; Huang Chengjia serves as deputy chief of the security department; Zhao Ningwu serves as deputy chief of the logistics department. In the same year, the fifth committee of the Jingzhou Museum Trade Union was established, consisting of six members, including Zhao Zigang, Liu Yan, Luo Jun, Li Liang, Zhai Yuxin, and Li Xiaohong. Zhao Zigang served as the chairman of the union, Luo Jun served as the union review committee, and Li Xiaohong served as the female employee committee member.
In 2011, the Office of the Editorial Committee of the Communist Party of China Municipal Committee approved the Jingzhou Museum to add the brand name of the Jingzhou Bamboo Slips Research Institute, with Yang Kaiyong as the director and Zhao Xiaobin as the deputy director.
