When is the best time to travel to South Africa?

The best season to travel to South Africa: all seasons. Winter (June-September) is drier and cooler, making it an ideal time for hiking and outdoor adventures. During this season, the jungle is not so dense and thirsty animals will gather around water sources just to feast their eyes, so winter is the best season to observe wildlife. Summer (late November to March) will bring rain and fog, and some uncomfortably hot weather in the lowland areas. Along the coast of the Indian Ocean, the climate is sultry and typical of a tropical climate with very high humidity. Even more noteworthy than the weather is the school holidays. From mid-December to January, a wave of holidaymakers from South Africa flood the city, mixing with tourists from Europe and North America. The peak is definitely between Christmas and mid-January, followed by the Easter holidays. By then, all accommodation in tourist areas and national parks will be full, and prices will more than double. Travel conditions are ideal almost everywhere in spring (mid-September to November) and autumn (April and May). In spring, the vast fields north of Cape Town are covered with flowers, making it the perfect time to visit.

You can go to South Africa any time of year. It is very dry in winter and you can see many animals near water sources. It’s not that hot in the spring and autumn, and there are a lot of tourists in the summer, but it can be hot too. In October, spring in South Africa, I went with China New Group. This is definitely a good time for sightseeing, the scenery is very nice.
