The new plan consists of the main entrance area, lotus viewing area, Kowloon Plaza, Jiulong Creek Recreation Area and waterfowl viewing area. Since the Qing Dynasty, it has been known as "the temple fairs in a thousand mountains are better than those in Northeast China, and the temple fairs in Jilin are better than those in a thousand mountains". Beishan temple fairs began in the early Qing Dynasty, probably since the temples were built. Strictly speaking, there are four types of temple fairs in Beishan: the eighth day of the fourth lunar month is the birthday of Tathagata Buddha, the eighteenth day of April is the temple fair for the empress, and the twenty-eighth day of April is the medicine festival. Wang Temple Fair, May 13th is the birthday of Emperor Guan. Since the scale of the Tathagata Buddha's birthday and the Queen's Temple Fair are relatively small, people hold the Guandi Birthday Temple Fair and the Yaowang Temple Fair together for the sake of excitement. Therefore, the Beishan Temple Fair mentioned now generally only refers to the Yaowang Temple Fair on April 28th of the lunar calendar. .
Beishan Park, located in the northwest of Jilin City, is a prestigious temple landscape garden. It covers an area of ??1.28 million square meters and is dominated by mountainous landscapes. The main peak is 270 meters above sea level. The park is full of green peaks and pavilions. A Wobo Bridge divides the lake into east and west parts. In summer, lotus flowers bloom in the lake, and when the breeze rises, the fragrance of flowers overflows. The main ancient buildings in the park include Yuhuang Pavilion, Yaowang Temple, Kanli Palace and Guandi Temple, all located on the East Peak. Among them, the Guandi Temple is the oldest, built in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. The main hall of the temple houses the statue of Guan Yushuo, flanked by the statues of Guan Ping and Zhou Cang. In the middle, there is a four-character plaque written by Emperor Qianlong "Lingzhu Youqi" hanging high in the middle. . Opposite the main hall is the stage, with buildings on both sides such as the Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Zhuhe Pavilion, Songfeng Hall, Chengjiang Pavilion, and Zhuliu Pavilion. During the Beishan Temple Fair in April of the lunar calendar every year, there are folk performances such as singing, dancing, and Yangko at the foot of the mountain, which is very lively.
