Tangshan, referred to as "Tang", is a municipality under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province. It is located in the northeast of the North China Plain, bordering the Bohai Sea in the south and the Bohai Sea in the north. Yanshan, adjacent to Beijing and Tianjin, is located at the throat of North China and Northeast China. It is the central city of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Industrial Base and the sub-central city in the northeastern part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration. ?

Tangshan was named after Emperor Taizong Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty when he conquered Goguryeo and settled there. It is the cradle of China’s modern industry and has a solid industrial foundation. It is known as the “Northern Porcelain Capital”.

China’s first mechanized coal mine, first standard gauge railway, first steam locomotive, and first barrel of machine-made cement were born here, giving birth to a rich industrial civilization.
