Which is the best way to travel from Beijing to Wuyuan?

Of course it is most convenient to drive by yourself. If time permits, you can also take a look around. It just so happened that I just made a guide, planning to drive from Liaoning to Wannan and Wuyuan in March this year. So let’s answer this question.

There are many scenic spots in Wuyuan and they are relatively scattered. If you go there by train or plane, it is best to rent a car to visit the local area. This way you can buy a pass and have fun. It's not impossible to take their travel shuttle, but it will waste a lot of time. It's up to you to decide whether to choose the time cost or the money cost. But then again, wouldn’t it also cost money for food and accommodation if the time is extended? Why wait until you are half exhausted and affect your mood?

Wuyuan is known as the most beautiful countryside in China, and Wuyuan in spring is the most beautiful. The golden rapeseed flowers are bright and charming, the peach blossoms, plum blossoms, and rhododendrons are also enchanting. The small bridges and flowing water, the houses, the white walls and black tiles, the smoke from the kitchen, the mist in the morning... It is simply a perfect combination of all the beautiful things. A natural ink landscape painting.

Eastern route: starting from Jiangling Renjia (terraced rapeseed fields, spectacular) in the north to Xiaoqi (ecological home, the first tea culture village) to Jiangwan (5A scenic spot, Huizhou architecture) to Hungling ( Not included in the pass, but worth a visit) ~ Wangkou (ancient commercial port in Huizhou) ~ Likeng (beautiful mountains and rivers, beautiful scenery) ~ Moon Bay (just park and take photos from a distance) ~ Wuyuan County.

North line: Wuyuan ~ Congxi Rafting ~ Sixiyan Village (ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties) ~ Tsinghua Rainbow Bridge (sign) ~ Likeng Ancient Buildings (Hongguan, Lingjiao) ~ Dazhang Mountain Wolong Valley ~ Jujing (the farthest village in China, take photos from a distance) ~ Shicheng (the most beautiful autumn maple and morning light). This route is a bit confusing because it branches off from the Rainbow Bridge. You can also go to Rainbow Bridge ~ Yantian Ancient Zhang ~ Yuanyang Lake (West Line) ~ Jingdezhen.

West route: Changxi Village (wafting smoke from the kitchen, watching the sunset) ~ Yantian Ancient Camphor ~ Fuchun Yuanyang Lake, etc.

I just go for a walk casually. I like history and self-driving. I hope to spend the rest of my life walking around, learning about the customs and delicacies of various places. I hope there are people with the same hobbies. Friends can follow and contact each other. Thanks.

I still have a say in this issue. I just went to Wuyuan to enjoy flowers in March. I went from Beijing by high-speed train and came back by plane.

Let’s talk about the high-speed rail first. The high-speed rail from Beijing to Wuyuan departs from Beijing South Railway Station and takes about 6-7 hours. Some friends asked why it takes so long. The same high-speed rail from Beijing to Shanghai only takes four or five hours. You can get there in an hour. I think the reason why it takes so long has nothing to do with the speed of the high-speed rail itself. It’s because there are too many stops from Beijing to Wuyuan. Almost all the place names I heard along the way stop. Even if each stop is 3 minutes, which adds up to a lot. The advantage of high-speed rail is that you have more freedom of space. You can move around and eat and drink in just 6 hours. Arrive directly at Wuyuan Station, which is very close to various scenic spots in Wuyuan. It is easy to find various chartered buses in the county. It may be the farthest away from Huangling, and there are some places in the middle where there are road constructions, but it is only twenty or thirty minutes away. Overall it's very convenient.

There is no direct flight to Wuyuan. There is no airport in Wuyuan. The nearest ones may be Jingdezhen Airport or Huangshan Airport, which are about 70 to 80 kilometers away. There are expressways, and it takes more than an hour to get to Wuyuan. We chose to fly to Jingdezhen Airport, the flight time is about 2 hours, and then you can take a bus or chartered car to Wuyuan. But everyone must arrive at the airport in advance before flying. Plus the time on the road, it is not much faster than the high-speed rail. Jingdezhen Airport is not big and there are not many people, so if you depart from here, it will be no problem to arrive about an hour early.

The price of the high-speed rail is more than 500, with no discount. After the discount, the airfare is more than 500, which is basically the same. But I personally think it’s more appropriate to take the high-speed rail. The time and price are similar, and at least the high-speed rail won’t be delayed.

Wuyuan is still worth visiting, just avoid the peak crowds and try not to go on weekends. Here are some photos of the Huangling trip we went to. The rapeseed flower terraces and ancient buildings are quite beautiful.

Poetry and painting, life, meet in Huangling. Focus on cultural tourism and purify your soul! I read the wonderful answers from friends above. Some said: Wuyuan’s scenic spots are scattered and it is more convenient to drive to Wuyuan by car, but I don’t think so.

The drive from Beijing to Wuyuan is more than 1,400 kilometers, and the journey takes about ten hours. Not only is it hard work, but it is also not cost-effective in terms of economy. My suggestion is to take the high-speed rail directly. It only takes more than seven hours and the ticket price is only more than 500.

As for how to travel in the future, I suggest you rent a car. It only costs a few hundred a day, which is not very expensive. Our taxi drivers in Wuyuan are not only civilized, but also very hospitable. They are usually free tour guides! You can rest assured that there will never be any cheating.

Let’s talk about the scenic spots in Wuyuan. There are three tourist routes centered on Ziyang Town, the county seat. The east route is the most famous and lively, mainly including: Moon Bay, Likeng, Wangkou, Jiangwan, Xiaoqi, Jiangling, and the most popular one nowadays - Huangling. The northern route is the most natural and affordable, and our entire Zheyuan Township is free. Others include: Rainbow Bridge, Wolong Valley, Lingyan Cave, and Tuochuan Likeng.

Relatively speaking, the western route is colder, but I think Yaowan and Taoxi are still good.

In short, when visiting our Wuyuan, you must be willing to spend time and calm down to play, because there are various sceneries in each place, each village has its own characteristics, and the most important thing is the rich culture and history. How can you appreciate it just by looking at the flowers? Finally, I wish you a happy journey!

Our team went to Wuyuan in March 2016.

After comparison, the best way is high-speed rail.

The high-speed rail station can reach Wuyuan directly.

Book a local commercial vehicle in advance. If the number of people is small, it is recommended to join a group or find a customized tour.

Just get on the bus and start your own flower viewing route.

Wuyuan rapeseed flowers are distributed in various villages in Wuyuan County, each with its own characteristics. You must analyze the characteristics of each scenic spot and choose the right place to go.

Based on my experience, the recommended ones are: Huangling, Jiangling, and Qingyuan.
