Wonderful Greek island

Speaking of Greece, people know that it is ancient, but many people don't know that Greece is a multi-island country with 1425 islands.

Under the arrangement of the host, one day in late June of 10, the "China News Delegation" and his party set foot on the voyage of "three islands in one day" in Greece and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Greek islands.

Greece is located at the southernmost tip of Europe, surrounded by the sea on three sides, bordering the Aegean Sea in the east, the Mediterranean Sea in the south, the Ionian Sea in the west and the European continent in the north. Greek islands, large and small, are scattered all over the sea.

In the Bay of Vigna in Athens, we boarded the cruise ship "Hermes" (the god of transmission) and sailed for the sea.

Of the 6,543,800+3,000 square kilometers of land area in Greece, the island area is 25,000 square kilometers, accounting for about one-fifth of the national territory. Among more than 1000 islands, 160 islands can be reached by passenger ships, catamarans and hydrofoils. The cruise ship Hermes can carry 800 passengers. On this day, tourists from all over the world crowded every seat on the ship.

Our destinations are Aegean Island, Ira Island and Polose Island.

Aegean Island is the largest island in the Aegean Sea, with an area of 1 100 square kilometers. When the cruise ship arrived on the island, under the blue sky and white clouds, the green hills on the island stood tall and straight, the villas with white walls and red tiles shone brightly, and the towering church was located on one side of the island. Greece's GDP per capita is 13000 USD, and its long history and good economy make the island ports well equipped. The crescent-shaped harbor is full of beautiful Bai Gang yachts, all of which are private and engaged in tourism services around the island. The port is also full of ships carrying vegetables and fruits, and there are a large number of fishing boats with masts. Walking onto the dock, a long cement road extends along the bay, with large and small shops on one side and shops on the other. The cobblestone road leads to the depths of the street. If you don't say it is an island, it's like you are in a seaside town in Europe. In all kinds of shops on the street, the goods sold are also high-grade. The most attractive thing is the aquatic products store. A row of freezers freezes all kinds of fish, including salmon, ponytail and more five-star octopus. Octopus is different from domestic octopus. It is big and fat. In the restaurant on the street, the islanders are roasting octopus sticks with charcoal fire, and the oil of octopus is leaking out.

Lunch was eaten on a cruise ship. According to the rules of the ship, Asians eat efficiently, which is the first batch, while Europeans and Americans are the second batch. Authentic western food also killed a lot of time. By the end of lunch, the second island, Ira Island, was in sight. This island covers an area of 600 square kilometers. When you get down to the dock, you will be surprised to see a mule. Upon inquiry, it turns out that this is an environmental protection island. Cars and motorcycles are not allowed on the island, and mules are the main means of transportation. The mule waited silently with his head down to carry people and things. One-sixth of the Greek islands are inhabited, and most of the inhabited islands remain in their original state. Climbing to the top of the island, I saw large areas of citrus trees and lemon trees planted on the hillside. Like most islands, Ira Island has fertile land, abundant water and fragrant flowers.

Until today, residents are still mainly engaged in agriculture. They cultivate grapes, tomatoes, beans, onions and pistachios carefully on scarce land. They are not as big as American pistachios, but they are very fragrant. There is also a flat beach in the distance, where countless tourists bathe in the sea or rest in the sun. This quiet sea island is a good place for vacation and leisure. We set sail, stood on the deck and glanced at Etla Island, only to see the firmness and beauty of the island reflected in the sunny harbor. In the distance, there are blue mountains and blue sky. Nearby, a magnificent ancient cannon is aimed at the sea. Next to it is the bronze statue of the first leader of the island.

Arrive at the third island, called Poirot Island, with an area of only 400 square kilometers. Walking down the gangway of the cruise ship, I saw the officers and men of the Greek navy on the dock. According to the entourage, there is a Greek naval school on the island, which aims to train naval officers, non-commissioned officers and recruits. In Greece, there is a national conscription system, and every young man must serve for one year. Even if you go abroad for further study, you still have to do military service when you come back. So the age of soldiers ranges from 18, 19 to their thirties, and some of them are full of beards. On Sunday, a large number of relatives rushed to the island from the mainland to visit the navy soldiers. On the dock, there are scenes where parents and sons, wives and husbands are together, and there are also vivid scenes where couples meet their friends. In the dock food stall, some relatives are having dinner with navy soldiers. Piles of them are really lively. We walked up the stone steps of the island and looked at the panoramic view of the island. I see that the island is so small and the sea is so open. The coastline of Greece is 1.5 million kilometers. Among the Greek130,000 troops, 30,000 navies are defending this blue sea and mobile territory.
