Paper: Tourism Development in Taiwan Province Province.

From the development process, the impact of international tourism on the balance of payments of Taiwan Province Province can be divided into three different stages. First, the stage of balance of payments structure (around 1956 to 1983). After 1949, the economic reconstruction of Taiwan Province Province is facing great foreign exchange problems. To this end, the Taiwan provincial government has taken measures such as developing import substitution and protecting tariffs to restrict imports and prevent the loss of foreign exchange. Starting from 195 1, Taiwan Province Province began to receive "military assistance" and "economic assistance" from the United States. According to figures released by USAID, during the period of 195 1- 1965, Taiwan Province Province received a total of 65,438. As the international tourism in Taiwan Province Province is still in its infancy, its foreign exchange earning capacity is limited. During the period of 1956- 1964, the total income of the international tourism reception industry was $29,250. However, after the mid-1960s, with the termination of "American aid" and the enhancement of foreign exchange earning capacity of the international tourism reception industry, the international tourism reception industry gradually played an active role in balancing the balance of payments structure. As can be seen from the statistical data, the positive role of Taiwan Province's international tourism reception industry in making up the foreign exchange deficit is quite obvious. During the period of 1965- 1969, the compensation rates of foreign exchange earned by the international tourism reception industry were 17.2%, 35.3%, 25.3%, 46.7% and 34.3% respectively.
