Comprehensive tourism income is equal to basic tourism income and non-basic tourism income.

Tourism basic income refers to the sum of monetary income obtained by the tourism department and the transportation department in providing tourism facilities, tourism commodities and tourism services, that is, the expenses that tourists must spend in the process of traveling, including transportation expenses, accommodation expenses and sightseeing expenses. Usually, the basic income of tourism changes in direct proportion to the number of tourists and the length of stay, which can roughly estimate the degree of development of tourism in a country or region.

Non-basic tourism income refers to the monetary income obtained by other relevant departments from providing their facilities, goods and services to tourists, that is, the consumption expenses that tourists may incur during the tourism process, such as post and telecommunications fees, medical and health care fees, repair fees, consulting fees, shopping fees, etc. The income elasticity of non-basic tourism is large, which depends not only on tourists' ability to pay, but also on tourists' hobbies. Non-basic tourism income is also affected by the number of tourists and the number of days of stay, but it does not show the same positive proportion.
