Tourist scenery in Qidu District

Qidu District is located at the southwest end of Keelung City, accounting for 42% of the city's total area. It is the largest of the seven administrative districts under the jurisdiction of the city. It is bordered by Nuannuan and Anle District in the east and Xizhi District in New Taipei City in the west. Most of the area is hillside, surrounded by mountains. Keelung River runs through the whole territory from east to west, with tributaries such as Shikou, Cao Lan, Maling and Youxi flowing into it. There is also abundant rain brought by ten squatters in Pingxi District, New Taipei City. Every year during the typhoon season, this river is in danger of flooding.

There is Atan Waterfall in the territory, which passes through the roadside culvert along Mingde Road, enters the mountainous area, and goes up the mountain in the exponential direction along the highway. Walking through the trail set by Keelung municipal government, you can see the mountain stream running down the mountain wall and standing beside the waterfall. It gurgles like a paradise.

Turn right from Qidu and enter Malingshan area, or enter You Xiang mountain area along Zhongshan-expressway Fifth Interchange Road. You can see the crystal clear stream, fish and shrimp swimming leisurely, on both sides of the mountain road, with different seasons, wild azaleas are in full bloom, grapefruit flowers and tung trees are snowing, and the scenery is rich.

Wandering in Maling Mountain Area, if there are not many people, you can go to the Insect Museum of Maling Primary School and take a crash course in entomology. If it is a group, it is best to make an appointment with the school first. Besides, you can take a walk to Yang Memorial Farm, and don't forget to bring some authentic local chickens and yam ice cream raised by your master. You can also go to Jinmingchang Farm to see water deer, taste local honey and taste koi fish. Or you can walk along Youxiang River, turn right after Fuxing Primary School, and arrive at Green Valley Leisure Farm, where you can taste the passion fruit theme meal carefully designed by the host. Taian Waterfall, also known as Caolanshan Waterfall, is located in Caoshan area in the south of Qidu. Because of the inconvenient transportation in the past, it has retained the simple and natural scenery and beautiful scenery. There are barbecue areas, camping areas, swimming areas and trails around the mountains, which have become popular places for camping and hiking.

After entering the waterfall entrance, it is divided into two tree-lined trails. The trail on the left is built along the stream, which has the appearance of a primitive jungle and can reach the camping area and barbecue area. The camping area was abandoned because no one used it. If you follow the right path from the entrance, you can reach Taian Waterfall. The waterfall is about 20 meters high, surrounded by green trees on both sides, and it pours down like a white gauze. Under the waterfall, it becomes a clear pool, shallow and clear, suitable for barefoot bathing and swimming. Occasionally, there are waterfowl standing on the rocks next to the waterfall, which is very cute.

Walking along the trail around the waterfall and in the lush mountains, you can also take a forest bath that is beneficial to your physical and mental health and enjoy the natural freshness of Maolin bamboo. This is really an ideal place to escape the noise. Because this area is located inland, it has not been directly hit by the northeast monsoon, and it is a beautiful scenery suitable for all seasons. Located in Wuzhishan area of Qidu, there are two little-known secluded streams and forests, which are completely different from ordinary tourist attractions and are very suitable for tourists who like peace and tranquility. Fu You Creek and Maling Creek are tributaries of Keelung River, separated by a mountain, forming two secluded places. The Youguo River is deep, especially near Aizhi Bridge. A deep pool about 20 meters long and 5 meters wide is like a mini natural swimming pool. You can often see local children swimming here, full of laughter and joy.

Malingkeng is a natural broad-leaved forest with low altitude. Because of its high humidity and rainy marine climate characteristics, it has bred extremely complex and rich animal and plant landscapes. There are at least 300 species of plants, more than 65,438+000 species of butterflies and many other creatures. It is a rare paradise in the suburbs of Keelung with the pleasure of loving trees, watching birds and watching butterflies.

At present, the water quality in the upper reaches of Maling River is relatively clean. There are Wu Guoyu, crucian carp, perch, brook long fish, bamboo tube fish, hairy crabs and giant shrimps in the river, and egrets visit and inhabit from time to time. Under the Cuigu Bridge is the place where fishermen gather, and all the potholes introduced in geography textbooks are here! Hu Cave is a topographical wonder formed by rivers carrying sand and gravel and eroding valleys, which can be found under Cuigu Bridge. Unfortunately, the excavation of the North Second High Highway is seriously damaging the natural landscape in the middle and lower reaches of Malingxi.
