A letter of invitation for a US personal tourist visa is not required.

Documents required for U.S. B2 visa:

1. A passport valid for more than six months when returning to the country from the United States.

2. Bank visa fee receipt.

3. Application form confirmation page.

4. EMS mailing form, fill in the content according to the EMS online instructions before going to the interview.

5. One original 50mm*50mm bareheaded color photo with white background. Starting from May 2012, color photos are no longer required. The photos on the application form can be typed in color.

6. The expired passport of the visa holder.

7. Take U.S. visa photos that meet the standards and keep the digital files of the photos for uploading and filling out the DS-160 form.

Information for reference:

1. Passbook or online banking transaction details in your own or your spouse’s name (all major domestic banks provide free printing of one-year statements) as assets prove. (Demands or time deposits are acceptable. RMB 50,000 is enough. A statement showing salary records can better prove that you have a stable income and will not immigrate to the United States illegally)

2. Applicants or spouses Real estate certificate or car certificate in your name as proof of assets

3. Photos of past foreign travels (the photos have landmarks for identification, it doesn’t matter if they don’t)

4. If you are with other Family members should apply together and provide marriage certificate, household register, child's birth certificate and other relationship certificates (no notarization is required), and several family photos.

5. The applicant’s travel itinerary to the United States (optional).
