What do I need to prepare for going to the Northeast? What should I prepare to take my pet to the Northeast?
Non-self-driving cars can skip the preparation of cars.
Northeast China is a plain area with almost no elevation. So the only problem we need to consider is low temperature.
Bobcat 15 changed its low-temperature resistant and easy-to-start yellow top battery before going to Tibet, so it should be no problem to go to Northeast China.
Before this trip, Bobcat not only inspected and maintained the whole vehicle, but also replaced it with -45℃ cooling liquid and engine oil labeled suitable for use in the north, and emptied the glass water, filling it with -40℃ glass water on the way.
In addition, we have been using Cooper AT3 tire, which is suitable for most roads in all seasons. We used to drive in the snow in Kanas, northern Xinjiang, which was a bit hard and slippery.
I asked some riders. Some people say to bring snow chains directly, and some people say to change snow tires in winter.
Considering that the temperature of this trip will be much lower, we travel by bike. After comparing the cost of renting a car with that of renting a car, Tea Dad decided to change a set of snow boots for Bobcats.
(Regarding the difference between snow tires and ordinary tires, the following is from Baidu:
Compared with ordinary tires, snow tires have a special formula to increase the friction with ice and snow roads. Its advantage lies in improving the passability and safety of ice and snow pavement. The tread material of snow tires is softer, and the carefully prepared silicon dioxide mixed rubber formula can contact the smooth ice surface more closely, thus generating greater friction than the four seasons tires, greatly improving the handling and safety of vehicles on the smooth ice surface. When the temperature is lower than 10℃, the surface of snow tire becomes soft, thus obtaining better grip. Ordinary tires are just the opposite. The colder, the harder. )
Snow tires are only used in the north and are basically not sold in the south.
I'm thinking about renting a set of snow tires. Tea dad said that our tires are not of regular size, and basically no one will buy two sets of snow tires in luxury. So it depends on luck.
Think about it, too. So I initially decided to buy a set directly and sell it locally after use.
Replace snow tires in the north.
Tea dad asked his tire dealer in Shanghai and contacted the tire dealer in Harbin through them.
After communication, the boss in Harbin suggested that we replace the domestic ordinary brand snow tires. Because we only use it once and will not bring it back to Shanghai after use, there is no need to buy a big brand. We agreed.
Two days after departure, when we confirmed the date of tire change in Harbin with our boss again, the boss said that he had found us a set of winter cross-country tires of the same model in Deng Lupu. It was sold because the owner changed cars in autumn. The production dates are 16, 12, and 17. It only took more than half of the winter at the beginning, which is very new.
Because we only need less than a month, the boss said he could rent it to us and help us install it.
Very good!
So the problem of bobcats' snow boots was finally solved.
I exchanged a better pair of shoes at a lower price than expected.
Good luck!
In the northeast, after MINUS 30 degrees, it is recommended to park the car in the warm storage for the night.
Hats, gloves and scarves Because I haven't experienced the cold in Northeast China, I turned out all the hats and gloves I used at home in winter:
These hats are single wool/thin wool/thick wool.
When the temperature is 3 degrees above zero, just wear a wool hat; Later, in the northeast, especially when the wind is strong, wear thick wool;
Gloves from right to left are
Decathlon's touch screen gloves are extremely thin; I thought I could wear it on the innermost layer, but I finally used it twice and threw it in my bag-it was too cold for one person and too inflexible to wear it;
The most commonly used fleece touch-screen gloves for outdoor activities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang in winter are of medium thickness; It's 40 degrees below zero, and I feel chilly. Tea dad feels ok.
Leather gloves are also made of wool. Tea dad thinks they are too thick to take pictures and hold things flexibly. I think they are very warm and windproof, so I wear thick leather gloves most of the time in the northeast.
On the far right of the gloves are our two wool bibs.
After I turned out all the scarves, I thought it would be inconvenient to pick up shit if I wore a long and thick scarf, and it would get entangled with the camera shoulder strap. So he took it back to the cupboard, but everyone brought a scarf. You can cover your neck with a mask.
After finishing the hat and gloves, I rummaged through the boxes and found that I didn't have to worry about shoes at all.
Every time I see thick shoes, I think I can wear them when I take my dog to play in the snow. I bought another pair unconsciously, and I didn't have a chance to wear it in Shanghai.
* There are two pairs of polar bears on the left, and the shoes are marked with a minimum of -35℃. Wear these two pairs when you leave.
*
On the right, I bought two pairs of UGG outdoor models of 6 or 7 years old, and took them off in less than 5 minutes each time. I may finally get a chance to wear it this time. -Later from Mohe, we all wore these two pairs in the coldest week of our trip.
* There is a pair of lambskin shoes in the middle. I've thought about it. Just take it. It didn't work out in the end.
I took a carton, put all these shoes in it, tied the carton with a belt, and tied the suitcase for easy access.
There are two pairs of thin plastic slippers in the suitcase. It comes in handy when you don't live in a hotel.
If there are no similar shoes, you need to buy them again. It is recommended to buy a size 2-3. Big shoes can wear stacked socks, thick insoles can be stuffed, and babies can have enough air to warm their feet. The more air there is between shoes and feet, the less likely it is to feel cold.
In addition, because I saw many people on the hornet's nest, because the soles of my feet were too cold, the chill oozed from them.
So I bought two pairs of wool insoles in Taobao, each of which cost more than ten yuan, and later sent them to be of great use.
Clothes Many people have mentioned in their travel notes that the indoor environment in Northeast China is very warm, not only warm, but even hot. Therefore, the big down jacket+thin inner layer is a better match.
The key word is windproof. Wrap it tightly.
It is expected that people who hire cars can get on the warm car at any time, but we have to heat the car ourselves in the morning and play with dogs, so we may spend more time outdoors than ordinary tourists.
So I give milk tea dad configuration is:
* Starting at 3 degrees above zero: sweat-wicking quick-drying underwear+medium fleece +850 tent light and compressed down jacket;
* Northeast of minus 20-30: Sweat-wicking and quick-drying underwear+heavy wool +800 tent ski down jacket; If it's not enough, you can also wear fleece and pressed velvet under your coat when you start.
And myself, considering that if Jerry really can't adapt to the cold in the northeast, I'm going to hold it in my arms.
To this end, I prepared a backpack for it to sit in.
Then I bought myself a big cotton-padded coat on Taobao. This coat is too wide. I can still button Jerry on my chest, but I look like a bear with a big belly.
* Configuration in Northeast China: Down jackets were replaced with cotton-padded clothes. Considering that Jerry needs air to breathe, his clothes can't be completely pulled tightly, so my middle layer must also be windproof. Therefore, I am very simple and rude, and wear the 850-Peng light down jacket directly between the sweat-wicking underwear and cotton-padded clothes. This way, even if the coat is pulled open, it will not be cooled by the wind.
Hey, what if it's still cold? So he stuffed a thin layer of wool into the box. Anyway, if you drive by car, you can bring more clothes at will.
When we set out in the lower half, both of us were soft-shelled and fluffy. When we arrived in Beijing, we added a pair of sweat-wicking, warm and quick-drying pants. This method of wearing has been maintained until Mohe;
In addition, I brought a pair of Decathlon's cheapest thin cashmere pants and finally put them on in Mohe where the cold wave hit.
Everyone wears a pair of smartwool hiking socks. The beautiful northern heating allows these socks to be washed every night and worn the next day.
Of course, I also brought two pairs, thinking of wearing two pairs of wool socks when it's cold-but I don't think it suits my shoes at all.
Of course, what is even more unexpected is that we finally stopped wearing socks and put on UGG barefoot.
Get the crampons and snow covers ready. The platform is covered with snow instead of crampons.
By the way, don't forget short sleeves. It will be very hot indoors.
There is also a set of short-sleeved household clothes for everyone in the box.
Drugs. Finally, drugs.
Human medicine, dog medicine.
In the past, our medicine boxes were thrown directly in the car.
Because some drugs are liquid paste, there are iodophor alcohol cotton and so on. I'm not sure if there will be a freeze.
So I opened the package and the instructions were tied to the medicinal rubber band.
Divide into two packages according to fear of freezing and fear of freezing.
If you are afraid of freezing, put it in a box you need every day and come into the room with us.
If you are not afraid of freezing, put it in a spare suitcase and you can spend the night in the car.
Photographic equipment cameras: D4+80-200, D8 10+ 17-35, which saves trouble and does not need filters. Four batteries, wireless shutter and tripod were left in the car.
There is also an iPhone8P to record videos and send them to friends.
I didn't buy a winter jacket, and finally found that the camera was more cold-resistant than myself, and D4 was more cold-resistant than D8 10. 8p is also more frost-resistant than you think after sticking a warm baby.
At MINUS 30 degrees, after about 1 hour, the LCD screen of D8 10 will freeze, but it will not affect the shooting record. D4 is good. 8P is safe for warm babies.
Under the cold condition of minus 45 degrees, D8 10 was frozen by the LCD screen after about 45 minutes and turned off after 5 minutes. D4 freezes and closes after 1 hour. 8P sticks to the warm baby and turns it off directly after 45 minutes.
Theoretically, when the temperature is low, the power consumption of the camera will be extremely fast, but after many days of measurement, we will not lose power for an hour or two when shooting in the snow. I feel that it is not much worse than the usual electricity consumption.
Extra tip: If you take photos outdoors for a long time, put the camera in a plastic bag and tie it before entering or leaving the room, and let it stand for an hour or two to prevent fog. If you take a good photo and get on the bus directly, the problem is not big; If it's from the car to the room, you can actually bring it in directly, so it won't be frosty and foggy.
When it comes to cameras, you can't forget many warm babies.
People used to say that it is necessary to keep the baby warm. It's comfortable to wear.
Besides, the kind for toes can be put in shoes.
Thinking of the two of us, plus the camera and mobile phone, I prepared a lot of warm babies, big and small.
In the end, we are useless ourselves.
It's all about the camera, the cell phone and Jerry.
Personally, if you stick a camera phone, it's best to use a regular size warm baby. So we consume the most.
Socks are used to keep the baby warm, although it still feels cold when you step on your toes. The battery life of the camera phone is not enough, and there are many left in the end.
Puppy's luggage
In order to take them away, I turned out all the dog's winter supplies and piled them in the living room.
It's tangled I want to take everything with me.
Old sheets and dog sleeping mats are naturally necessary. And this trip will experience a low temperature that we have never experienced before. So I prepared clothes for the dog.
Iced black tea and Jerry are 1 1 years old and 10 years old respectively, which is equivalent to nearly 80/70 years old. Is an elderly uncle. Pay more attention to keep warm
Hurtta's four-legged warm coat, short for autumn trousers, is for both uncle and dog. This model has a heat reflective metal coating on the inside, which can keep the dog warm.
Practice has proved that thermal reflection is not enough to keep warm by the dog's own body temperature reflection in extremely low temperature environment, but it is a perfect match for keeping the baby warm, and Jerry hangs it after using it.
In addition, I prepared iced tea with soft shell and velvet and thick velvet coat (the fluorescent green one below, I tried it at home, and I was afraid of the cold in the northeast and found my neck stuck)
Hurtta's super warm cotton-padded coat is for Jerry, and it also has thermal reflection, which feels like a human military coat. And a velvet hat.
In addition, Jerry brought a bunch of sweaters and sweaters, and even turned out an old four-legged down jacket belt.
The main task of salmon going to the northeast is to grow long hair. So I didn't prepare clothes for it alone.
In fact, salmon and Jerry wear the same size, so it can wear all my brother's clothes.
I struggled in a pile of dog clothes for a long time, and finally I put some of them in a box, thinking that if the temperature drops, I can put them on before I get up in the morning and leave the hotel;
The other part of the clothes was put in a portable bag and kept in the car. If the dog feels cold, it can be put on at any time.
Besides, I brought my dog raincoat. I don't know why I should bring my raincoat in the northeast where it doesn't rain.
It's so cold, you shouldn't bathe the dog, and you didn't even bring a shower gel hair dryer. But I brought a dog towel and a dog bathrobe, and the devil sent a piece of dog soap into the box.
Three little guys use their chests and backs every day. On the trip, they will get a collar with a dog tag.
It is said that the sun sets early in winter in Northeast China, so there are night lights on the chest and back, so you can see them at night.
It is said that plastics will become brittle in cold conditions. I thought about it, what if the plastic parts on the dog's chest and back freeze? So I took three spare boxes, plus three P chains.
I also thought about what to do if the plastic Fleisch telescopic traction froze in the northeast, so I took a spare Fleisch.
Finally, the spare chest and back and the spare Fletcher are useless. The spare P chain was used soon, not because it was frozen, but because the bare-handed metal buckle was too cold and the gloves were inflexible. Just put a set of P chains around the dog's neck.
Jerry is old, easy to cry in the wind, squinting at the sun, thinking that snow may be snow blind, so he brought him a pair of goggles.
But the goggles were later forgotten by me, and I never took them out from beginning to end.
But I think it should actually be useful, at least it won't look so messy.
Well, it should have been about the same.
But how easy it is for me to expand my contacts.
So I put the following things in my luggage:
Pet diapers, a lot of paper towels, a lot of self-adhesive bandages, aluminum foil fracture fixation plates, a large roll of medical absorbent cotton (really a big roll, self-driving), a huge water bowl.
Talk about purpose:
* Diapers:
Although the three kids got on the bus to sleep and got off the bus to pee, they didn't pee in the hotel. However, if you occasionally vomit or have gastrointestinal discomfort, diapers with strong water absorption can be disposed of quickly. In addition, not all hotel bathrooms are wet and dry. If a dog goes into a bathed bathroom, it is bound to step on water. Hotel floor towels are not suitable for dogs. Putting a diaper at the door of the bathroom can replace the function of a floor towel.
* Debao paper towels: Be sure to choose paper towels that won't break in water. I estimate that the wet paper towels used by dogs to wipe their feet will freeze during the trip. As long as we take some water with us, we can use them as wet tissues.
*
Self-adhesive bandage: This thing can do almost anything. Can be used as adhesive tape, sealing tape, rubber band, etc. No sticky hair, no sticky dog hair, tear it at will, I brought a lot. Later, it was used to make a simple snow cover for Jerry.
*
Aluminum foil fracture plate: I know this thing originated from Jerry's fracture in Tibet. I didn't expect it at first, but I saw someone in my circle of friends skiing and broke a bone two days before I left. It suddenly occurred to me that it would be easy to break if I wrestled on the ice. . . . Take it.
* Medical absorbent cotton: This absorbent cotton is a roll of cotton sheets with a single thickness of about 0.4cm, which is similar to a thick cotton pad and can be cut freely.
I prepared shoes and socks for Jerry, but considering that all pet shoes don't slip on the ice at present, it may be easier to get hurt when running on the ice with shoes, I didn't prepare shoes for iced black tea and salmon.
If their feet are too cold in the northeast, I can wrap their feet with absorbent cotton and self-adhesive bandages as shoes and socks. It's warm and not slippery.
People can also use it.
# Dog food #
I prepared something for the puppies, and of course their dog food.
This time, I tried another series of Ocean Star, which seems to be a relatively low-fat formula, which is more suitable for our uncle Wang.
Then, considering that Xiaoyu is still a teenager and needs more nutrition, she brought some canned fish.
Before going out, I used to pack food bags according to meals and put them in plastic sorting boxes.
I asked my dog friends in the northeast, will food bags and plastic buckets be brittle when thrown in the car? Maybe if the car spends the night outdoors.
I can't imagine that bags and boxes are fragile and dog food is scattered all over the floor.
So it's a bit troublesome to pack all the dog food and vacuum seal it.
Put all the dog food in a carton, put it in the back of the car, and take two packs every time you need it.
Don't worry about the cold
As for canned food. . I definitely heard the sound of liquid inside.
If you leave it in the car, it will freeze, right?
I walked around the house twice, and finally I wrapped these cans with two layers of ice packs. I bring them into my room every night. It should be safe.
