How many days are suitable for traveling to Tengchong?
Tengchong tourism recommends 2-3 days. On the first day, you can go to the area around Ginkgo Village, and in the evening you can take a night soak in the Lotus Hot Spring. On the second day, you can visit Tengchong Volcano Park, and in the afternoon, go to Beihai Wetland. You can spend the day wandering around Heshun Ancient Town.
1. Ginkgo Village: It is a must-visit place in Tengchong. During the peak season of late autumn, there are more tourists here than fallen leaves. There are also countless photographers carrying long guns and short cannons. Come here early. This waiting, waiting for the appearance of light and shadow.
Recommended tour route: It is recommended to enter from the main entrance, first stroll around the Ginkgo King and Ginkgo Forest, then walk along the main road to Chenjiazhai, and finally choose a small courtyard you like to sit down and enjoy quietly. Slow farm life.
2. Tengchong Volcano Park: There are 97 volcanic bodies and several levels of lava platforms. It is one of the four major volcanic groups in my country. The volcanic cones, volcanic caves, lava fields, volcanic lakes, dammed waterfalls, and columnar joints in the park are large in scale, concentrated in distribution, and well preserved. There are also scenic spots such as Dakong Mountain, Xiaokong Mountain, Heikong Mountain, Column Joints, and Cuttlefish River.
3. Beihai Wetland: Being in a wetland surrounded by mountains, the air is filled with the fragrance of grass and leaves, and the quacking of wild ducks can be heard from time to time in the reeds. Boating on the lake makes you feel like you are on a prairie. It's just that this "prairie" is floating on water.
4. Heshun Ancient Town: Heshun Ancient Town still retains traditional culture and architecture. Ancestral halls, archways, ancient towns, etc. from the Ming and Qing Dynasties are scattered throughout the ancient town. The entire ancient town also maintains the architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties unchanged. It's like a legendary paradise.
Things to know when traveling to Tengchong
The best seasons are February to April and September to November. Tengchong has neither severe cold in winter nor scorching heat in summer, and the famous Atami attractions will not change with the seasons. July-August is the peak season, and Tengchong is commonly known as "the place without summer." In summer, you can come here to see the North Sea orchids and go boating in the wetlands, which makes it an excellent summer resort. But it’s the rainy season and you won’t be able to play if it rains.
From mid-November to early December, it is the best time to see ginkgo trees in Ginkgo Village. The whole village is yellow and orange, and it is suitable for hot spring bathing. It’s not cold in winter, but the Knife Rod Festival on the eighth day of the second lunar month is even more crowded.
