The 2023 World River Civilization Forum (Zhengzhou, China) is a forum co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, People's Daily, National Cultural Heritage Administration and Henan Provincial People's Government, with the theme of "Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning, Development for a Better Future". From September 16 to September 18, 2023, the 2023 World River Civilization Forum (Zhengzhou, China) was held in Zhengzhou, Henan.

The 2023 World River Civilization Forum was held in Zhengzhou, a national central city in the middle reaches of the Yellow River in China and one of the eight ancient capitals, from September 7, 2007 to September 8, 2008. More than 300 experts and scholars from all over the world have conducted extensive and in-depth discussions on "exchange of civilizations, mutual learning and development for a better future" and reached nine points of consensus:

This forum consists of four sub-forums: the main forum meeting and the diversity of world civilizations, exchanges and mutual learning, the inheritance and promotion of Chinese civilization and Yellow River culture, the dialogue between Chinese civilization and world civilization, and the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin. Zhengzhou Declaration of the World River Civilization Forum was discussed and released.

Before and after the forum, supporting activities such as "Walking in Henan and Understanding China", interviews with Chinese and foreign media during the trip to the Yellow River, and the third China (Zhengzhou) Yellow River Culture Month series were held.

Activity content

With the theme of "Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning, Development for a Better Future", this forum has set up four sub-forums, namely, the diversity and exchange and mutual learning of world river civilizations, the inheritance and promotion of Chinese civilization and Yellow River culture, the dialogue between Chinese civilization and world civilization, and the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin, aiming at comprehensively promoting the Yellow River culture, further enhancing the influence of Chinese culture and strengthening the exchange and mutual learning of world civilizations.

About 360 Chinese and foreign guests will be invited to attend the forum, including about 60 foreign experts and scholars and representatives in China. * * * We will discuss how to better realize the inheritance, promotion and protection of great river civilization, and strive to build the forum into an important cooperation platform for scholars in various fields, such as archaeology, to help the international spread of archaeology in China and the construction of international discourse power of archaeology in China.
