What to wear to Xishuangbanna on New Year’s Day?
It’s almost the New Year’s Day holiday. I believe many friends also want to go sightseeing. Xishuangbanna has a warm climate and its natural landscape is very pristine and magnificent. Therefore, it is also the best choice for many people. So what clothes are appropriate to wear during the New Year in Xishuangbanna?
1. New Year’s Day dressing guide
When there is a low temperature, it is about 8 degrees, and the temperature difference between morning and evening is relatively large. In summer, it is recommended not to bring too many clothes. You can also bring wool or light feathers to prevent the temperature from dropping. It is best to bring long-sleeved pants and a jacket.
Be sure to bring enough T-shirts and shorts, and it is best to bring a light jacket, because it will be a bit cold in the morning and evening, so you must prepare sandals. When I get there, I basically wear sandals every day, and sneakers are absolutely unbearable.
Dry season (November-May): The weather is hot, so sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, sun hat, and heatstroke prevention medicines are essential.
Rainy season (June-October): The weather is hot and humid, and sweat will stick to the skin as soon as it comes out. It is recommended to bring a small towel when going out. Umbrellas, mosquito repellents, sunscreen, and heatstroke prevention medicines (such as Huoxiang Zhengqi capsules) are essential.
2. Introduction to Xishuangbanna
Xishuangbanna is a flat dam surrounded by mountains. It is located at the southern end of Yunnan Province, connected to Laos and Myanmar, and borders Thailand and Vietnam. It has jurisdiction over Jinghong City, Menghai County, and Mengla County. The Lancang River irrigates this green land and is called the Mekong River after leaving the country. It flows through five countries: Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, and then merges into the Pacific Ocean. It is known as the 'Danube River of the East'. As you can see from the map, the famous mountains on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau surround Xishuangbanna on the east and west sides. Pieces of flat land appear among the mountains. Surrounded by big banyan trees are Phoenix Bamboo and Dai Village.
3. Best time to travel
“Hot” is a major feature of Xishuangbanna’s climate. The annual average temperature in Xishuangbanna is 21.9, and it is divided into two seasons: dry season and rainy season.
