On the evening of 20 17 12 16, Beijing time, a China plane landed safely on the 2500m runway of Langya Airport in Antarctica, realizing the first flight of a Chinese commercial aircraft to the South Pole. The commercial plane was provided by Hainan Airlines and carried 22 passengers from China. It started from Hong Kong, arrived in Cape Town for replenishment after a flight of 15 hours, and landed on the icy runway in Antarctica after a flight of 5.5 hours, creating a new history for China Airlines to safely carry passengers to the South Pole.
