1. When applying for replacement, you should bring the original and photocopy of your old passport, ID card and household registration book to the exit-entry administration office (bureau) where your household registration is located.
2. Process: take the number-take photos-fill in the form-call the number-window acceptance.
Remember to write the ID number of the old passport when filling out the form.
After acceptance, a corner of the old passport will be cut off and returned to you for visa reference.
Generally, the validity of visas and passports for going abroad should be more than 6 months, otherwise the embassy will not accept them.
6. If your passport didn't expire before going abroad, but it expired when living abroad, you can apply for a replacement at the nearest China embassy or consulate (the old passport will not be extended, but it needs to be renewed).
