The unforgettable Swan Lake in Guyuan County

At the end of July this summer, our family went to the Bashang area of ??Hebei Province for a trip, and accidentally discovered the peaceful and beautiful Swan Lake in Guyuan County, which made us linger.

We came to Fengningba along the beautiful Chengzhang Expressway. When we were going back to Beijing the next day, we found a place called Swan Lake on the map. It wasn’t too far away. Using mobile phone navigation, we arrived at Swan Lake in Guyuan County.

Guyuan County has a long history and is located in the northern part of Hebei Province, on the upper reaches of the Lightning River and adjacent to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Affiliated to Zhangjiakou City, it borders Fengning County of Chengde City to the east, Chicheng and Chongli County of Zhangjiakou City to the south, Zhangbei and Kangbao Counties to the west, and Taipusi Banner, Zhenglan Banner and Duolun County of Inner Mongolia to the north.

The highest altitude in Guyuan County is 2,123 meters, the lowest altitude is 1,356 meters, and the average altitude is 1,536 meters, so the summer is very cool. We drove through the county town along the way and felt that the population was not large and it seemed very leisurely. When we returned to the county town from Swan Lake, we found a small noodle shop on the roadside and each had a bowl of shaved noodles, which was delicious and affordable.

Swan Lake is located three kilometers north of Guyuan County, covering an area of ??400 acres and a water area of ??150 acres. It is a natural freshwater lake with rippling blue waves and a good ecological environment. Here the mountains are green, the water is green, the grass is lush and the flowers are beautiful, and the air is refreshing and the wind is clear. Every time when the grass grows and warblers fly, countless swans, gray cranes, wild ducks and other water birds rest here. It is like a bird's paradise, hence the name Swan Lake.

Swan Lake Scenic Area is a national 4A-level scenic spot, covering an area of ??25.8 square kilometers, of which the lake water surface is 9.5 square kilometers. The neat tree-lined paths and spacious parking lot left a deep impression on us. The ticket is 40 yuan, which is very cheap compared to many 4A scenic spots. There are not many tourists here, which is the most gratifying thing.

Due to limited time, we rented a four-person bicycle with a roof after entering the scenic spot. Riding along the forest path towards the lake, the first thing that comes into view is a sea of ??flowers, planted with backgammon and poppy poppies. In the fresh air and under the bright sunshine, the flowers are so beautiful. We couldn't help but stop the car and get closer to take pictures.

After arriving at the lake, I saw a huge statue of Guanyin standing on an island extending into the lake. There was a large stone on the pier on the shore with the three characters "Swan Lake" engraved on it. There were some people taking commemorative photos there.

We rode along the lake, with the breeze blowing on our faces, which was very pleasant. At the edge of a small forest, we stopped to take pictures on the grass. There were trees and grass on one side, and lakes and mountains on the other. The scenery was picturesque and intoxicating.

Due to time constraints, we had to end the trip and reluctantly left Swan Lake.

I said in my heart: Goodbye, Swan Lake, I will come again!
