Guide county, Qinghai

Guide County is located in Qinghai Province on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The Yellow River crosses the Qingshui River in Guide, which has attracted domestic and foreign tourists in recent years. However, after enjoying the clear water of the Yellow River, people are surprised to find that there is also a well-preserved ancient architectural complex in Ming and Qing Dynasties.

The Confucian Temple and Jade Emperor Pavilion in Guide County are the most representative buildings among the existing ancient buildings in Ming and Qing Dynasties. This ancient building complex is located in Yin He Town, Guide County. According to historical records, in the 17th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1589), it took four years to consolidate the rule, educate the people, and bless "the emperor's great plan, live forever and enjoy the old age". In the 17th year of Qing Daoguang (1837), the renovation and expansion project of Huang Yu Pavilion came to an end. In the sixth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty, the Hui people rebelled, the Jade Emperor Pavilion was destroyed by war, and the existing ancient buildings were rebuilt in turn during Guangxu period. The building complex covers an area of 6 1 mu, with a building area of 49 15 square meters. It is a masterpiece of ancient architecture adjacent to the temple, which integrates Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, abandons the view of portal, coexists and depends on each other, and has a unique layout. The whole building is in the form of China's traditional symmetrical central axis, and the single buildings are mainly in Gansu and Qinghai, which is magnificent and rare in China and has great historical and artistic value.

The Confucian Temple includes 12 single buildings, including Lingxingmen, Chi Pan, Xiangxian Mingguan, Seventy-two Immortals Temple and Dacheng Hall. Among them, Dacheng Hall is a shrine dedicated to Confucius, the great philosopher of the Chinese nation, and has always been a place for literati to worship Confucius and get together.

In addition to the Jade Emperor Pavilion and the Confucian Temple, the ancient buildings in Guide during the Ming and Qing Dynasties also include Guan Yue Temple, a Chinese-style building dedicated to Guan Yu, Yue Fei and Mazu, the Great Buddha Temple of Tibetan Buddhism, and the Chenghuang Temple, which still has 20 square meters of murals during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty.

Guide is located in the Yellow River Basin, with Longyang Gorge on the top and Songba Gorge on the bottom. Surrounded by mountains, broad plains and fertile land, it is known as the "Little Jiangnan" on the plateau. The discovery of ancient buildings in Guide in Ming and Qing Dynasties and the inscription by Qian Qichen, Vice Premier of the State Council, "The Yellow River in the world is your Deqing" have made the tourism in Guide County prosperous. According to Liang, director of Guide County Tourism Bureau, nearly one million tourists from inside and outside the province come to Jade Emperor Pavilion in Guide County every year.
