The sixth volume of Zhangzhou Prefecture Records says that it is "the shady side of the county, and it is famous for crossing the tiger". "Ruizhuyan was created by Chu Xi, a monk of the Five Dynasties. It was named after splitting bamboo and pumping water, and dead bamboo gave birth to bamboo shoots.
