Cruise ship on the sea
In the early autumn of 2019, my son and I took the Italian Costa cruise ship to travel to Fukuoka, Japan.
I have seen the sea before, and it was at the beach. Looking at the sea on the cruise ship this time has a different feeling. Because you are looking at the surrounding sea areas in the vast sea. It was vast and boundless. It was hard to describe the shock and feeling to the soul at that time.
The cruise ship traveled very slowly, and it took three days and two nights to arrive at the port of Fukuoka, Japan.
This is my first time traveling to Japan.
Fukuoka is not a big place, but my son said that small prefecture-level cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka are all similar. The buildings, streets, customs and customs are basically the same, but the big cities are more prosperous.
The day I arrived in Fukuoka was a Saturday, but the streets and alleys were deserted and seemed very quiet. The streets were clean and empty, with occasional pedestrians passing by and few vehicles. I saw one or two Japanese girls wearing the Japanese school uniforms seen on TV, riding bicycles quickly. The behavior of Japanese people appears to be civilized and polite, and there is no such thing as loud noise, spitting, or animalistic behavior of actively killing strangers in the market. The main style of Japanese houses is a small second floor, with no neat arrangement and free and loose seating. Some people keep umbrellas at their doorsteps in case of need, and no one can take them away. Fukuoka as a whole gives people a quiet and clean feeling.
I have also been to Thailand and seen the Sea of ??Thailand. The Sea of ??Japan and the Sea of ??Thailand are different. The Thai sea is light blue and clear. The Sea of ??Japan is deep black, boundless and unfathomable. During the late-night cruise, because I couldn't sleep, I stood beside the rail of the cruise ship and stared at the deep, dark sea. Suddenly I remembered what the owner Thomas said to his sister Anne in the famous book "The Buddenbrooks" written by the German writer Thomas Mann: Seeing the sea and seeing the mountains give people different feelings. Seeing the mountains gives people the strength to climb hard, and seeing the sea gives people the strength to climb. It gives people a feeling of impermanence and sadness.
Looking at the sea, I don’t know why a thought suddenly jumped into my mind: If someone jumped from a high-rise cruise ship at this time, no one would know, and no one would even be able to hear the thump. It is also impossible to save oneself and be saved. In an instant, they will disappear from the dark sea, and their lives will end. It's that simple, that easy. The so-called life is not only not eternal, but it may be difficult to live and easy to die, as long as you have enough courage. Standing by the fence of the small balcony outside the door of the 2-person dormitory on the 16th floor of the cruise ship, looking at the rough sea in the night, the scene of the writer Lao She's suicide during the Cultural Revolution emerged in my mind. He sat by the lake all day He later committed suicide. What was he thinking about that day? Is it just the sudden violence and insults? Some people say that Lao She committed suicide because he pursued perfection and chose to commit suicide after being humiliated during the Cultural Revolution. Didn't Lao She die because he was tired of life and life? Was Haizi's suicide entirely caused by frustrated love? Aren’t you disappointed and pessimistic about the world?
In fact, many Chinese and foreign literati committed suicide because their ideal life was far removed from vulgar life, so they did not want to stay in the despicable secular world. The writer's eyes are the eyes of life. You can see clearly for others, but you can see blurryly for yourself. Maybe you can see it more clearly, but then it becomes blurry. Thoughts and spirits gradually became confused and depressed, and finally became vulnerable. These literati overthink the meaning of life, are dissatisfied with the current situation and the past, and have a clear understanding of the future.
Lao She once said, "Honest people and good people should die in the river." Some people admire Lao She's courage and think that his death is the embodiment of perfect personality. Lao She once said: "When people are old, they should live like babies." He also said that the life of the elderly should be like: "A baby is sleeping soundly in the cradle, with nothing to ask for and nothing to fear." The life beyond the tip of his pen is warm and sentimental.
On the way back, we encountered a typhoon and the sea was rough. The cruise ship was moving slowly between the peaks and troughs of the waves. The hull shook violently and many people were vomiting and dizzy. However, the crew and cast members sang as usual. The dancing, sales and service girl has a calm expression, as if nothing has happened. She probably has lived on a cruise ship for many years, and has the quality of being able to see things without being surprised, no matter whether there are risks or not.
Traveling is now the preference and choice of many citizens, but while seeing the scenery, it also comes with a lot of sins and risks. Therefore, I think travel should be a matter of permission and disallowance. For literati, whether it is depression or sadness, they are keywords and basic expressions in literature. Literary people are sentimental and sad about things. Chen Jiru, the author of "The Story of a Small Window" in the Ming Dynasty, said, "Tourists appreciate the beauty of the grass and the fragrance of the flowers; the blossoms of the peaches and withered plum blossoms, and the enlightenment of their impermanence." This is the difference between literati's tourism and ordinary tourists' appreciation of the scenery.
For ordinary people, eating, drinking, having fun, and being happy every day, because we often say, no one knows which will come first, tomorrow or the accident. For literati, instead of traveling, they can just watch the flowers blooming and falling in front of the court. If they go traveling, they can just follow the clouds rolling in the sky. But whether you are a scholar or a layman, you should learn to let go of your desires, settle your mood, and live naturally. The Buddhists say: "Relaxing your mind at the moment is Bodhi." When you let go of your mind, your mind will suddenly open up, everything will be clear and bright, and you will become smart and wonderful, and you can find relaxation and happiness anytime and anywhere. life.
