Where is Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang?

Putuo Mountain is located in Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, in the north of Zhoushan Islands in the East China Sea.

Mount Putuo, together with Mount Wutai in Shanxi, Mount Emei in Sichuan and Mount Jiuhua in Anhui, is also known as the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, and it is the Dojo where Guanyin Bodhisattva educates all beings.

Mount Putuo is one of Zhoushan Islands 1390 islands. It looks like a black dragon lying in the sea, with an area of nearly 1.3 square kilometers. Across the sea from shenjiamen in Zhoushan Archipelago, it is known as the "Buddha Country at Sea" and "Holy Land of the South China Sea". It is the first batch of national key scenic spots.

On May 8, 2007 (the year of Ding Hai), Putuo Mountain Scenic Spot in Zhoushan City was officially approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national 5A-level tourist scenic spot. "There is a fairy mountain on the sea, which is a part of the intangible world". Putuo Mountain has become a famous tourist attraction at home and abroad because of its magic, sacredness and mystery.

Mount Putuo is one of the first batch of 44 national key scenic spots announced by the State Council, China National 5A scenic spot, National Wen Ming and National Health Mountain, and the only ISO 14000 national demonstration zone in Zhejiang Province.

Construction of Putuo Mountain Scenic Area;

After decades of hard construction, development and protection, the management of Putuo Mountain Scenic Area has become increasingly standardized and institutionalized, with orderly tourism and social stability. It has successively won the honors of "National Safety Mountain, Civilization Mountain and Hygiene Mountain", national 5A-level tourist area, national demonstration unit for the protection of tourism consumers' rights and interests, and national demonstration site of civilized scenic spots, and has also passed ISO 1400 1 environmental quality management.

The superior cultural environment and first-class tourism services make Putuo Mountain a tourist destination all year round, and Buddhism continues all the year round. In 2004, it received more than 2.3 million tourists.

Every year, there are three major incense festivals, the Nanhai Guanyin Cultural Festival in Putuo Mountain, China, and the "Spring in Putuo Mountain" tourism festival, with many tourists and incense. Pedestrians on the road jostle shoulder to shoulder and worship devoutly, which is a solemn and prosperous scene of "the world of Haitian Buddhism and glass".

Mount Putuo has become a window for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and it is a national key scenic tourist area integrating Buddha worship, summer vacation, cultural relics and archaeology, island investigation, painting and calligraphy, film and television production and folk customs.

There are also the Western Heaven Scenic Area, which integrates natural landscapes and temples, especially the Zizhulin Scenic Area, including six scenic spots, such as Zizhulin Buddhist Temple, Kannonji Refusal and Guanyin Buddha in Nanhai. These scenic spots are the essence of Mount Putuo.

Every summer comes, tourists who come to the mountain for summer vacation gather in Baibusha, the first beach in Zhejiang Province, adding another beautiful scenery to Putuo Mountain.
