Planning and Protection of Pingyao Ancient City

Since1February 3, 1997, Pingyao ancient city was designated as a world cultural heritage, the whole county felt a great responsibility, spared no effort in the protection of Pingyao ancient city and achieved some tangible results. In the process of heritage protection, we should gradually realize the core position of planning, constantly consolidate and strengthen the leading role of planning, always insist on planning first, promote protection through planning, and promote development through protection, so that Pingyao ancient city, a precious wealth of all mankind, can be effectively protected and rationally developed and utilized. 1998, the Standing Committee of Shanxi Provincial People's Congress promulgated the Regulations on the Protection of Pingyao Ancient City in Shanxi Province, which is the first local regulation of world heritage in China. Based on this, we have invested more than 10 million yuan. The Master Plan of Pingyao County, the Protection Plan of Pingyao County's Historical and Cultural City, the Special Plan of Pingyao Ancient City's Infrastructure, the Constructive Detailed Plan of Pingyao Ancient City's Ring Belt, the Constructive Detailed Plan of Pingyao Tourism Service Base and the Development Plan of Pingyao Tourism Destination have been compiled and completed, and a relatively complete heritage protection planning system has been gradually formed, so that the protection of the ancient city has gradually embarked on a scientific track. Today, as an important part of the heritage protection and utilization planning system, the detailed protection planning and management planning of Pingyao ancient city, which we are about to consider, will make up for the lack of protection and management of the ancient city in our county, be more operational and practical, and have very important practical guiding significance for heritage protection.
