How many districts and counties are there in Lu'an?

As of March 2022, Lu'an City governs four counties and three districts. Specifically: the four counties of Huoqiu, Jinzhai, Huoshan and Shucheng and the three districts of Jin'an, Yu'an and Yeji; in addition, it also has 130 towns, 8 streets, 106 urban communities, 245 rural communities and 1,831 administrative villages. The municipal government is located at Chang'an South Road, Jin'an District.

Lu'an City is located in the west of Anhui Province, between the Yangtze and Huaihe Rivers, bordering the provincial capital Hefei City and Chaohu area to the east; Anqing area and Hubei Province's Yingshan and Luotian counties to the south; and Henan Province to the west. It is adjacent to Shangcheng and Gushi; it is adjacent to Huainan City in the north and across the river from Fuyang area. The city is bounded by 115°20’-117°14’ east longitude and 31°01’-32°40’ north latitude. The city's total area is 15,451.2 square kilometers.

Huoqiu County is under the jurisdiction of Lu'an City, Anhui Province and is located in the west of Anhui Province. It borders Sanhejian Town, Xuji, Chenji and other places in Gushi County, Henan Province to the west, faces Fuyang across the Huaihe River to the north, is adjacent to Lu'an City and Shouxian County to the east, and is connected to Jinzhai in the south. The total area is 3239 square kilometers, with hills in the south and plains in the north. The overall landscape is mainly plains. It has jurisdiction over 30 towns and 1 provincial economic development zone.

Jinzhai County is the largest and most populous mountainous county in Anhui Province and a county with major tourism resources. It is also the second largest general county in China and is known as the "cradle of the Red Army and the hometown of generals." Hewu Expressway and Shanghai-Hancheng Express Railway run through the entire territory, and Ningxi-Ningxia Railway and National Highway 312 pass through the county; Meishan Reservoir and Xianghongdian Reservoir can be opened to navigation all year round.
