According to the official website of the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, we learned that Mudu Ancient Town is an ancient water town cultural town of the same age as Suzhou City, with a history of 2,500 years. It was the place where King Wu Fu Chai favored Xi Shi. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were 30 private gardens. The Yan Family Garden, Hongyin Mountain House, Ancient Pine Garden, Bangyan Mansion, etc. have been restored. Its rich historical and cultural heritage resulted in Mudu Ancient Town being rated as a national AAAA-level scenic spot in 2008 and included as one of the thirteen scenic spots in the Taihu Lake Scenic Area.
