For example, the Sony A7R3 is often used for landscape, portrait, and street photography. Which Sony lens is best to use with it?
I am also a Sony A7R3 user, so I will talk about the lens selection from my personal perspective.
Sony A7R3 is the third-generation professional full-frame mirrorless camera of the Sony A7 series. The professional imaging of its body can already compete with Nikon and Canon. For such a professional mirrorless camera, when it comes to lens selection, I feel that the Sony FE 70 200 F2.8 has to be the one that takes into account landscapes, people, and street photography.
Let’s analyze the requirements of the three subjects: portrait, landscape, and street photography.
1. Portrait
The overall image of Sony’s early lenses was yellowish, which was also criticized by the majority of photography enthusiasts. At present, Sony's portrait imaging no longer has the previous problems. The overall picture is cooler and the portrait effect is very good.
The 70 200 F2.8 lens is one of Sony's three-dimensional lenses that I personally think is the best for shooting portraits. The blur outside the focus is also very soft and dreamy. Coupled with the powerful air cutting capability at the telephoto end, the background blur effect is very good. It’s just that the weight of the lens is not light, so it’s a bit hard to carry around, but in order to take good photos, it’s time to exercise.
2. Landscape
Since I chose the telephoto end to shoot landscapes, don’t think about shooting big scenes. Sometimes focusing on the scenery can also have a very shocking effect.
Because the widest angle focal length of 70 200 is 70, there will be no wide-angle effect. Although this is a shortcoming, without a wide angle, there will be no distortion, and the captured scenery will be closer to reality. The focused scenery is also very beautiful, isn't it?
3. Street Photography
Summer is here, and street photography has become a very common thing. Because street photography is done on wide streets, medium and short focal lengths are not suitable. Because the focal length of 70 200 is long enough, it can blur out the "passers-by" out of focus on crowded streets, making the subject you want to shoot very clear and sharp.
If it’s a model posing on the street, it’s fine. If you’re casually shooting pedestrians on the road without using the telephoto end, if someone spots you, just wait for an explanation. Deleting photos is a good thing, but if you meet someone with a bad temper, be careful with your equipment. I feel this very much, and it makes me cry. Street photography is risky, so be careful when shooting.
Ahem, let’s get back to the business...
To sum up, Sony 70 200 F2.8 is the one with the widest range of applications among Sony’s three cameras. Some people may say that the mid-range focal length of 24 70 F2.8 is also good, but in my opinion, the air cutting ability of 70 focal length is still much weaker than that of 70 200. For someone like me who has strong requirements for background blur, 70 200 is my favorite.
I have been using Sony for 7 years, from single-camera half-frame to full-frame, and now to mirrorless cameras. I think in terms of cost performance and balance, I think 24-240mm is more appropriate.
I own three Sony lenses: 600 500 300 135 85 50 35 12 fixed, fisheye, tilt-shift, macro and various zoom heads, such as 150-500, 16-50 half-frame, 10-18 half-frame, etc.
But when I travel, I only carry a 12-inch 24-240mm Royal 2 and a Huawei Mate20pro mobile phone.
If I only have one lens, I will bring this 24-240mm lens. It currently sells for more than 4,000 yuan. It is cheap and portable. It covers all focal lengths. The image quality is average, but it should be enough if it is not used for commercial purposes.
The reasons: First, 24-28mm is the wide-angle end, which is sufficient for taking pictures of scenery, and can achieve the purpose of comforting large scenes and announcing people in small scenes. Second, street photography is more self-protective and can be composed as you please. After the implementation of the Civil Code, it can better reflect its hidden nature and compose images as you wish. Third, this lens can also blur the background when shooting portraits at 240 degrees.
In short, this lens is not used for commercial photography, but it is sufficient. It is a good lens that can be used all over the world. It is portable and has a wide range of uses. It meets the needs of photographers at all focal lengths. As the saying goes: heroes do not care about their origins, and awards do not matter where they come from. The quality of a photo depends on the person, not the head.
Hello, I don’t think there is a best answer to your question. It depends on your personal preferences. First of all, any lens has advantages and disadvantages, and it cannot be omnipotent. So it depends on what your main shooting direction is. If you mainly focus on landscape and street photography, it is recommended that 24-105 is the most suitable. With a constant 4-stop aperture and a longer focal length than the 24-70, the image quality and lens resolution are not inferior.
Sony a7R3 uses an adapter ring to match Yashica 28mm/F2.8 (Zeiss series, Cy mount), Zeiss 35/2.8 film camera lens, Canon 24--70; 70--200 lens.
First of all, you have a lot of shooting needs, and scenery ranks first, so you must consider the ultra-wide angle + telephoto properties of the landscape lens. Portraits and street sweeping can both be included in this requirement, so If you choose, I would recommend 24-70F2.8.
First of all, I recommend zoom because there is a lot of demand, so all lenses must be taken into consideration. Among them, only 2470 is more suitable. Although 24 is not very wide, it is still ok for taking pictures of scenery, and F2 is fine even if there are starry skies. .8 is not given for free. If the scene is too big to fit in 24, you can still shoot the film together, so 24 is enough for scenery.
The other focal lengths are 35/50/70. Together with the F2.8 combination, you can shoot good portraits, documentary and street sweeping works, which almost takes care of the subjects you want to shoot. This is the reason why when all manufacturers develop lens systems, Dasanyuan is the first choice. It is because there are so many subjects to shoot and the image quality is very good, which can meet almost 90% of the needs.
If you think 2470 is a bit mediocre, then look at which aspect you focus more on shooting, and buy a lens that focuses more specifically on shooting. For example, if you like more scenery, then you can choose ultra-wide angle alone. For matching, if you focus more on portraits, you can also buy some fixed focal lengths with large apertures to combine, so that you can basically meet all needs 100%.
Just to take care of all needs, then 24-70 is the best choice, because it can shoot everything but is not particularly proficient in it, but it is very useful.
The 24-105g and 24 1.4 gm I have used are both good. The 24-105 is convenient and has good image quality for traveling. It’s great that you don’t need to change lenses in one lens. The disadvantage is that the aperture is a bit small and it’s a bit heavy. The 24GM large aperture is light and the image quality is very good. The disadvantage is that the fixed focus is a bit limited. The following was taken at 24gm.
Depending on the budget, the Tamron 28/75 is recommended as a more cost-effective zoom lens. For fixed focus, you can look at Sony 55/1.8 and other more advanced fixed focus master 50 and 35 focal length lenses.
It is recommended to use Tamron 28/200
Sony a7r3+24/1.4
I want to change to Sony A7R4, can the previous small ternary lens still be used?
